I don't see most Americans willing to do dirty jobs
Every summer there are work and travel programs from university/colleges of students from other countries going to America and working
I don't think it's Bs as you call it seems to me that there is some truth to this entitlement yes people are also not getting paid enough but I doubt thats the only factor

You were right
But the chinese think that at anytime usa will forbid them to buy American product, thus, they're changing all component to be local.

And you're linear thinking don't understand that
3nm, 4nm or 7nm only good for smartphone
The Chinese now were making sure they will be able to produce 80% of the chip from washing machine to tv to microwave to smart car to memory to ssd.... Anything but smartphone & computer cpu/gpu.

So... developing 3 nm is a no-go for them.

Then silently back out
As of now
The worker issue will not get better
As the recession and inflation hit hard

Anonymous, 22 Jul 20237nm generates less heat, less powerhungry & overall mor... moreIf you're talking about TV
It's probably 2watt vs 3watt
If you're talking about EV
You're probably talking about maximum 10 watt difference???
In which doesn't really matter
Side note:
I still own an i3 2nd generation notebook
Which is 32 nm.
Still good.

7nm will have benefit for EV, TV, etc.
But 14nm or 28nm will do just fine too.

blue, 21 Jul 2023US and Taiwanese manufacturers have nothing to worry about ... moreLike what was said 7nm is a good starting point, decent & cheaper with high yield compared to 5nm beyond that is still pretty costly to make & still has high fail rate. If China can mass produce 7nm & sells them miles cheaper than TSMC/Samsungs 7nm & below, then that means huge companies/emerging ones can take advantage from it not specifically only for phones but other electronics devices aswell like EVs, Computers, TVs, etc.

TheLastOracle, 21 Jul 2023Its a Joke.
The US already has monopoly on the majority ... moreCurrently,
USA mostly control chip manufacturing because most of them use the US software to design the chip.
The chip manufacturing patent mostly not American.
So, why America can say no to China if USA not own the majority of patent? Because it has military power

America... moreIts a Joke.
The US already has monopoly on the majority of the world's tech. If it becomws a leader in chip manufacturing, Europe will go into the worst depression in centuries. So will the rest of the world.
