21 July 2023
The company was initially hoping to start mass producing 4nm chips out of that plant next year, but a labor shortage caused the delay.

The conflict with China was solely creared for this. To push TSMC out of Taiwan. Good work 😎

Jerrey, 21 Jul 2023Time for Samsung foundry to fill-in the gap then, that is i... moreSamsung already set over $20B for their expansion in Texas and enroute to manufacture 'high-end' chip next year.

it sound massive but TSMC on the other hand is spending over $40B in Texas alone.

yep they need to step up their effort. at this point even Japanese Fabs may soon catch up with them.

of course foxconn plays the long game with america seeing whose going to do more pushback against china until after 2024 us election

Time for Samsung foundry to fill-in the gap then, that is if they able to fix their issues and be more compelling enough as TSMC "backup" option for those companies.

Samsung really have to step up its game, not just half-ass things to cover lot of segments.

P.S. I'm not Samsung hater, I even have S23 that I truly like. But other things they made like Exynos chipset is just not good.
