Likewise, it also seems strange to make the Redmi series bigger with every new release. Have a compact and a large. Redmi Note and Redmi Note Pro. I wouldn't purchase a Xiaomi flagship due to the price, however I'd consider a compact Redmi Note.

            Those who buy low end, don't care update.
            In fact, they *****HATE***** update.
            Because
            1. Update will slow down phone, especially the phone with low spec
            2. Update will use their Mobile data, most of low end user were not rich
            3. They don't care about update because their think "I don't have any money for someone to steal, and I'm not rich, information about me is not important"
            4. If it's work fine now, why update

                  There is only one reason why no companies want to make small phone.
                  They don't get enough profit.

                  If the small phone really sell well

                                Sony just have small screen sizes and not small phone sizes

                                  Just look up the numbers sold basically all iphones up to 14 the standard model and then same with Samsung S22 and 23 then you can see how much people really want to have smaller phones.

                                  But all of that is in flagship segment with high price the majority of market cant afford or dont see a reason to spend on a phone they use for few years.

                                  We are living in a era of consuming so all the tech is built not to last for a decade or more so people will buy new device in like 3 to 5 years. It's basically a reason why Chinese phones mostly dont give you more then 2 years of android updates is that you buy new phone so the brand makes more money

                                  There is nothing in the market that is small or compact for budget to middle class and i need to mention that nothing new also as you probably can get like 3 years old Samsung S21 or something that have dropped the price to middle class or like Pixel 5a or 6a but these are not really a small phones when for 6.1 inch screen size these are bigger then standard iphone and S22/23 like 6 mm taller.

                                  And maybe there are some brands like Ulefone, Cubot and the like that have something smaller but these are too low end and too low budget that they dont much matter when you have like 5mp camera on it from 10 years ago and 480p screen be a luxury on it and also running something like Android 8 on them.

                                  That is not a choice in the market
