I know several people and friends who has moved to iPhone after seeing Samsung dropped both the headphone jack and microSD card slot. May as well use an alternative mobile OS that can give the longest software support.

            Anonymous, 27 Jul 2023Nothing interesting since S3True.

S4 was "S3 refresh", while S5 had new IP68 protection at least.
Then came S6, which was a downgrade in every possible way.
S7 "fixed it". S8 was a mess. S9 was fine and last good one was S10 series. It has been downhill since then.

I love the Ultra phones, But I keep skipping on the folds because of that HORRID front display, its far too narrow for my liking.
Samsung have stopped innovating and become apple, rolling out incremental upgrades. Please push the boat our again, make something a bit wowish, how about making one of those 12" tablets fold in half, that would be an industry first.
Even better if you could also stick a secondary display on the outside for compact viewing mode or if you can somehow make a hinge that folds all the way aka 360 mode now that would be a sweet device

they say their new foldables will rise up demand and restore their profitability
but that is extremely foolish, foldables are an extremely small niche and flagships are also a minority too despite the hype surrounding them, the large majority of people around the world will buy midrangers or budget devices
unless they get their reputation back by making actually good and competing products in their A series, they're screwed. and they seem to be doing the opposite. i have even heard rumors they want to use exynos on the S series again, so they're nuking even that again

At this pace , entire Samsung corporation will be having revenue lower than 180 billion dollars.

Sales of iphones alone bring to Apple more than this. Not even counting other hardware and services.

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2023Here's a tip to bring back those lost sales on smartph... moreThis.

Samsung forgot that dropping those features puts them on the same level as iPhone, with the same pricing. And never mind competition like Pixel.

So they end up losing on software support against iPhone + camera features against Pixels.

TM Roh, the President of Samsung’s Mobile Experience Business, said: “By 2025, foldable items will take up more than 50 percent of Samsung’s total premium smartphone shipments. Foldables will become the new standard of smartphones.”

Smartphone shipments have been down since 2021. The only smartphones that saw growth last year were foldables. Most of that growth was in China, but it is projected by 2026, foldable shipments will reach 70 million globally. By 2027, 100 million. Samsung and apple are expected to control the majority of those sales.

So, why are you guys acting like Monday morning quarterbacks?

This is why the other manufacturers are not pushing their foldables. They can't rely on premium mobile sales or their entire business will tank. Samsung isn't on Apple's level, but they are the only two that can sell premium devices.

This might be the first year when Apple willl sell more phones than Samsung, currently the difference is only 15 million units and Apple will still have very strong Q4 ahead so it all depends how Q3 goes for Samsung.
