8k on a small sensor like this is a waste of time. Instead of a 200mp sensor what really should be seeing is a 16mp 1/1.3" with 2-2.2um pixels with 16mp oversampled 4K, and binned 4mp for low light 2688 x 1520, and instead of 3, 4, 5 smaller sensors, just freaking do the main as a 20mm equivalent with dual aperture like F1.4 and F2.8, give us that and an 85mm equivalent with the same sensor at no more than a fixed F2.8

Oppo just left France too by the way 😳

Kingchin33, 30 Jul 2023A lot of content creators (not all as some use smartphones)... moreYou can watch reviews comparing s23 ultra 8k vs 4k and it is better image quality on 8k.

IPhone 15 or 16 will have 8k recording and maybe the people see that for some use cases(like content creating) 8k is 30 fps is the way to go.

Also I had 1. 4K phone now I got also 8K one, obviously can see the difference in real life or in tests here. Someone closing eyes before the truth cannot. There are even tools here on this site for you to open your eyes, no need to make jokes.
Wait, looks like samsungs 4K is better than sony's 4K, no point comparing it to 8K which will be too devastating for you, 8K is just too good.

Cpt.Power, 30 Jul 2023Wellcant name any apart the best durable screen motorola ev... moreI was not talking about moto mods. Motorola gave up on it because changing form factor of devices (all those many screen ratios) would require new mods every year. Would be impossible to even change screen size while keeping mods compatibility.
My point is downgrade of hardware.

G5+ had same imx362 (1/2.6") used by Pixel 2/U11. G9+ had 1/1.76" camera. Now G series has crap JN1 (1/2.8") when even Moto E at some point had much larger 1/2".
Motorola used to get oled from Samsung and LCD from LG, now lower quality screens from Tiamna.
Edge 20 has 78mm camera, while Edge 30 and 40 with "macro".
Edge 20 Pro with periscope, removed from 30 Pro and 40 Pro.
Downgrading side finger scanner to in-screen.
Edge+ (2020) had same HMX 108MP 1/1.3" used by xiaomi, now all except 30 Ultra use way smaller 1/1.56" from omnivision.
Many phones without NFC (when using phone to pay is very common).

Under Lenovo, there is never guarantee next motorola will be better than current.

Samsung has done nasty cuts, but motorola has done way worse. People forget.

Same sensor, in the end the light intake is same , using 12.5 or 50.
                          Problem is crap quadbayer CFA.

50MP Bayer downscaled to 12.5 look miles better than native 12.5.

8k on a smartphone is pointless. 4k at least has some reasons. I don't understand why 1440p isn't a more common thing on a smartphone?

For one 8K video recording quality will be very poor on a cheap smartphone 😂 and two 8K recording on a smartphone isn't currently important. Your last part the rest is happy with 4K shows you just like 8K video recording to brag even though the video quality is worse than 4K video recording!

Repeat again go and take a photography course to get the knowledge others on here have as you are currently writing absolute nonsense embarrassing yourself buddy 🤡

Dude go do some research and take a basic photography course learn how photography works 🤦🏾‍♂️ it's simple physics obviously 4x pixel binned images from the main camera of Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Oppo Find X6 Pro, Vivo X90 Pro+ resulting in 3.2µm 12MP will be better than taking photos at 50MP at only 1.6µm 👍🏾
