Counterpoint: India's smartphone market shrinks by 3% in Q2, premium segment grows 112%

Xiaomi is more or less finished in Indian market. As per IDC Mi marketshare is 11% in Q223. In 2020 their market share was 30%. In other words in 2020 one in every third phone sold was a MI phone whereas today that's 1 in every 10.
I don't see MI regaining their position. They have committed too many blunders. Hardware failures, bloatware, update issues, QC issues....I was once a MI user. I switched to Samsung in 2021.

>As far as the premium market is... moreso what is this?
“Samsung remained at the top position for the third consecutive quarter with an 18% market share. The brand also surpassed Apple to regain its top position in the premium smartphone segment (>INR 30,000, ~$366) after one year with a 34% share.
these S21 FE and Flip3 have had aggressive offers which are priced under $549 as counterpoint says. So this is the premium segment. Unlike what people here, they think this grows is $1000 like newer S23+.

>As far as the premium market is concerned, Samsung finally overtook Apple thanks to good offers on its foldables, older Galaxy S22 lineup and the S21 FE.<
There was Older Counterpoint Article which showed S21FE is 3rd best selling Android 5G phone behind A52s and S22 series. So S21FE and S22 sold lot more than A54 and A34 which was released late and cost more than S21FE atleast in India.
