He ripped the 7a for lack of certain features like 90hz and wireless charging. Google added them and cause the 7a to launch at higher price than the normal pixel 7.

Anders, 31 Jul 2023As android phone makers are turning themselves into knock-o... more1. People who can't afford to buy Z Fold series, buy iphone instead.
2. Buying iphone make people look stupid, because most of the features are actually old features from samsung phone from 3-4 years before.
3. Apple still dont make foldable phone in 2023.
Apple = old school/ancient brand.
4. Apple is one of the best Samsung follower.
Want to guess new features of iphone? Go see old features of samsung phone from 3-4 years before (Amoled/oled, Always on display, pill/punch hole camera, wireless charging, customizable lock screen, etc.)

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2023To have more iphones made there. Lower costs and more profits. Apple wouldn't bother with local manufacturing if the sales are low. Clearly Apple saw the trend.

I guess now we know why Apple is suddenly interested in India after ignoring it for so long.
This trend is called maturing market. As the general consumers are shifting from low income to middle income and up, companies with strong brands will end up being the winner, ie the likes of Samsung and Apple. Those who have more money will gravitate towards these brands.
As Xiaomi is declining, we will see them getting more and more desperate (aka rebranding the same phone for the n-th time).

SKG, 31 Jul 2023Chinese mobiles are slowly creeping towards premium price s... moreExactly. Xiaomi thinks they can sell $1000 phone. People who can afford $1000 phone wouldn't want to be seen with a Xiaomi phone. It shows Samsung and Apple are the top brands. It's all about brand value. This is what the Chinese failed to see. They think just by raising their price, they can compete with Samsung and Apple.

Anders, 31 Jul 2023As android phone makers are turning themselves into knock-o... moreMany here complain about " lack of opitions" but claim phone should cost according to who makes and not what phone has.
To them Apple and Samsung are allowed to charge $2000, while all other should remain below $500.
Then complain both remove everything while increasing price.
