Ice Universe: the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+ will have LTPO displays

01 August 2023
Samsung has been using LTPO panels on the Ultra models since the S21 generation, but the two smaller models stuck with old school panels.

LTPO is Apple tech (Apple made that tech). So, technically that guy said is true. Samsung have to pay some $$$ to Apple for them (Samsung) to use the LTPO. Why you people triggered?? 🤦🏻‍♂️

        OK

You clearly did not read it, if you did read it didn't understand it, or facts are what you decide are facts

Not that my post is any more important or relevant but here it is
        Wow.

It seems people have already voted based on facts sorry rumours not in evidence.

There are other related articles which I can only assume have not been read, A answer. Not contained in the final post B Answer.

What do we know so far. Before Usain Bolt began setting records his performance was pretty dire, in a field of peers

Qualcomm charges for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is exorbitant and significantly more than even Apples Bionic 16.

Samsung pays the piper flagship phone flagship SoC

The article says wait. So let's wait not an undetermined amount of time, just up to Xmas 2023 ( previously know as Twittermas)

Why am I excited, well before that we see the Bionic 17, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and Mediatek Dimensity 9300 in real world phones.
        https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/qualcomm-snapdragon-8-gen-2-vs-mediatek-dimensity-9200

Let me pose a hypothetical if say Mediatek blows away Qualcomm should Samsung opt for the 9300? (Ignoring the Exynos 2400 factor)

Samsungs Exynos 2400 may be 10 Cores we know that it will have one Cortex above 3.0 GHz.

The Exynos 2200 doesn't fare well against the 8 Gen 2, but before I wait for all the results to come in.

There could be a reversal of fortune, Samsung could go Exynos 2400 as the benchmark performance are so close that would not impact user.

If the performance of these three are so close the spin off will be or should be a reduction in price, or in improvement in other areas.

Samsung are no fools so for it to be considering to maybe drop Qualcomm is that they have addressed the previous weakness

Half you post is on Exynos SoC and a lazy segue if ever I saw one

                        It is either:

                        1) you never believe anything that you do not like
                        2) too childish behaviour like ppl at reddit that feel power in doing it.

Vivo can only have copy of LYT800 , not having LYT800 because LYT800 is imx888, that belongs to Sony Electronics.

I'm guessing it's the effing Exynos. Samsung wants to use Exynos again for the S24. We know Samsung fab sucks so bad and highly inefficient. So I'm guessing Samsung is trying their best to squeeze out any improvements in efficiency from other components, aka the display panel, hoping that by using LTPO, they can mask their awful Exynos.

                              Fact that is 100% true.
                              Apple owns LTPO tech.

I do not understand why the fact Apple created this tech gets you 😡

Okay, so it's official that there will still be 3 models in the S24 lineup right? Regular S24, 24+, and 24 Ultra. So that rumor about Samsung discontinuing one of them was false. Good to know. Moving on.

LTPO panels for all is great. The problem is that Exynos rumor. If Samsung is adamant going back to their Exynos despite the great result on the S23 with SD8gen2, then I guess better get the S23 while you can. Who cares about LTPO when the SoC (exynos) itself is highly inefficient.

I don't know if I ever miss QHD+ on the S20 when it only runs on 60Hz. To use 120Hz, the resolution has to go down to 1080p. Samsung made the right decision to stay with 1080p 120Hz for base model since the S21.

Too much of a downgrade for a premium phone. As it is the situation now, S and S+ are not worth buying.
