Kuo: the vanilla iPhone 15s will get stacked image sensors first, the Pros will wait for next year

04 August 2023
The iPhone 15 Pro pair are expected to use the same sensors as the 14 Pro, so it won't be until 2024 that the Pro series gets a stacked sensor in their main cameras.

Transform? They are still over processed jpegs like the rest. They just have accurate colors and a little less sharpening.
Nothing special beyond colors.
In fact until recently they have been severely behind on other fronts. And that's just the camera. Not including every other aspect they just simply fall being. Purposefully too to add insult to injury. Sony has no intent on competing with the market. And I mean in relevant ways. Not over sharpening or design.

Google/Apple/Samsung do exactly what a 📷 would never do, because it is wrong.
Sharpening to pretend to be details, wrong colours, too much noise reduction, flare, ghosting, background artifacts.

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2023So much for "sells less and less" when Sony'... moreThat only works to a certain limit when the amount of sold phones is so low that it does not provide enough funds for creating new ones. And Sony is nearing that point. The Xperia 10 series is a perfect proof.

Another reason to wait for the 16PM, or 16 Ultra, if that ends up being the highest-end model of 2024.

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2023When is m4/3 sensor coming Never, Don't expect such a sensor in the next 10 years.
The 1" sensor isn't even mainstream yet, only Sony have developed one for use with a few brands, an MFT sensor is HUGE compared to even a 1" especially when it has to fit in a smartphone and its super narrow body, the 1" sensor was years in development
