Kuo: the vanilla iPhone 15s will get stacked image sensors first, the Pros will wait for next year

04 August 2023
The iPhone 15 Pro pair are expected to use the same sensors as the 14 Pro, so it won't be until 2024 that the Pro series gets a stacked sensor in their main cameras.

You can still make profit despite selling not as much unit. Same story as selling a lot of unit but still making losses. Also, don't forget about how the brand keep on giving free upgrades and offers to shift more unsold units. Marketing 101 right there.

Sony really have done great wonders with stacked sensor on the Xperia 1 v. I'm still happy with my current Xperia 1 iv, but I really cannot wait to see what Sony will do with the next gen Xperia Pro-I.

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2023When is m4/3 sensor coming I doubt it is. M4/3 sensor is too big for a smartphone. It'll probably be 1"-type that for a while. That's enough. What I am interested in is variable aperture, improved lenses, improved processing algorithms and 2x-10x periscope camera would be incredible

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2023Doesn’t make sense to meIt's very simple. Stacked sensor technology is not used by any smartphone till now and not rigorously tested. Apple don't consider it as tried and tested technology. So consider apple 15 vanilla edition as an experimental lab. If it work there, apple will introduce it in 16 pro and pro max models. Apple 15 vanilla edition is guinea pig here.
