Kuo: the vanilla iPhone 15s will get stacked image sensors first, the Pros will wait for next year

04 August 2023
The iPhone 15 Pro pair are expected to use the same sensors as the 14 Pro, so it won't be until 2024 that the Pro series gets a stacked sensor in their main cameras.

If those are AGAIN targeted at "the 'gram" crowd then I'm not seeing what the actual fuss is. Because judging from what I've seen at ig, the levels for both actual photography skills (mostly on the lack thereof) and OVER-editing justifies NONE of those people's demand for better still/vid sensors in the iPhones; read -> 90% of them are just a bunch of pretentious FOMOs whose idea of a good photo is just the "place" (is it hyped or viral?) or some in-trend off the cuff fashion that they've managed to somehow achieve their own dollar store ver of those. Neither has anything to do w/ an iPhone's base spec sheet.

Just few tweaks at circuit level, then sony semicon gives another name.
First rumor was that 100 pro+ would use Isocell HP3 for periscope.

All exmor are going to be called Lytia, even those without new layer tech.
                      LYT900 is imx989, LYT800 is imx888.
To set exmor for phones apart from sensors used by security, industry, photocameras etc ..

Shame they will only be giving the 15 Pro Max the periscope lens. Even it ends up being a bit lighter this year with the Titanium frame, the phone still has a much larger overall footprint than the standard Pro. We'll be upgrading my wife's 12 Pro this year but there's no way she'll want the 15 Pro Max even if I tell her the camera is better.

Look at google, from 1/2.5" to 1/1.3" , still using even more.

Sharpening is choice, not necessity. Apple, Samsung and Google use 10x more than neçessary because they want. They all know ppl with no knowledge of photography will be calling it "detail".
