Kuo: the vanilla iPhone 15s will get stacked image sensors first, the Pros will wait for next year

The iPhone 15 Pro pair are expected to use the same sensors as the 14 Pro, so it won't be until 2024 that the Pro series gets a stacked sensor in their main cameras.

    This is a smart move by Apple 🍎

    By keeping the tried and tested sensors for the Pros, they can continue to improve on it by fine tuning the software processing, dialing down on the sharpening, and whatnot...

    And by implementing the stacked sensors on the iPhone 15 and 15 Max, they are basically making sure that the iPhone 16 Pros utilise this stacked sensor to the fullest... It'll be interesting to see how these stacked sensors perform compared to "normal" sensors.
