Windows 10 was already very stable with rarely any bluescreens, Windows 10 turned that stability up to 11. No clue what you're doing with your hardware but 10 and 11 have been by far the most stable Windows versions so far.

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2023Bro, stop lying. Those are the exact same things all Apple ... moreNot your "bro". Windows is fragmented meaning it's fundamentally flawed and does totally inexplicable things sometimes. Watching tech youtubers for many years has shown me that it's to be expected. And maybe you should stop lying to yourself, because I have used Windows from XP through 11 and it has become buggier and more painful with each iteration to the point I had errors upon every start-up and have helped plenty of people with their tech issues caused by Windows eg. W10 self-destructing and wiping the drive, necessitating a clean install from USB. W11 has the same architecture as W10, and its UI is just as ad-filled. And Microsoft does not care about privacy nearly as much as Apple. I still have a Windows desktop but MacOS suits laptops really well. It's plug-and-play in most regards and just works without complaining. That's not too much to ask. I used to mock MacBooks by calling them donglebook Pros and always recommended Windows laptops to family and friends until the Apple M chips appeared, which have been widely lauded by traditionally Windows-loving commentators. Lesson: don't be a brand snob; leave your biases behind while approaching something new.

No, Windows 11 is not nearly as fragmented as 10 was and is pretty user friendly. No, it us neither unstable nor buggy, hell, even Windows 10 worked flawlessly for me and everyone I know compared to previous versions. Also no, Windows 10 was never supposed to be the last Windows, that has been taken out of context so many times now, it's not even funny anymore. MacOS may be more user friendly at first sight, but only if you don't need more than some basic settings. Once you need something more advanced it's a pain in the ass.

For those that say you cannot compare ARM vs x86, well you can. Just compare Apple's best MacBook Pro with Intel CPU vs one with an M1/M2 variant. You can also do the same with the latest Mac Studio (M1/M2 Ultra) against an AMD Hackintosh or an Intel Mac Pro.

We see that on-average the ARM cores are a little bit slower in single-core, decently faster in multithread, all the whilst using noticeably/significantly less electricity.

The M0 chipset is just the Apple A12Z CPU overclocked, they started to design and build its successor for a couple years in advance. Initially designed with the innovative A13, but during the build of the translation later, it was ported to the A14 architecture on the M1. The M2 was a slight refresh with the A15 architecture, and sacrificing efficiency for more clockspeed. The M3 is not a refresh, but a proper architectural upgrade. It'll use the TSMC-3nm node, the new A17 platform, and come with higher base and maximum specifications. So if the M1 Max chipset caused a lot of competition for the likes of the AMD r7-6800u and Intel i7-1280p, well the M3 variants should decimate the upcoming options from those competitors in many ways.

However, performance and efficiency are not everything. If you prefer WindowsOS, then you have lost nothing by the introduction of the M3.... if anything you may see prices drop in your segment as the market adjusts.

once again a misleading title " Apple's M3 arrives in 2024 with more cores and considerably higher performance " why it's referred only to M3 max , no change for M3 nor M3 pro

Windows - user friendly? Lol, yeah having the entire OS so fragmented with new and legacy modules (eg. a Settings app and the Control Panel) is so intuitive and simple. Same with all the bugs because fundamentally Windows 10/11 has not been properly designed to run well on a wide array of manufacturers' devices due to multiple layers of software miscommunication and creating incompatibilities (and making the OS inefficient). And hmm, I wonder why Microsoft created Windows 11 after saying 10 would be the last major release and they'd continue with iterative updates? There's no way around all of this without a complete redesign.

Even settings are so complicated that I was not able to work with it. Windows may be hated, but it is the only truly user-friendly OS these days.

"and considerably higher performance" - no wonder if there are more cores for M3 Max. But what about M3 with the same core count? I suspect 5-10% improvement at the same power usage.
