Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to feature a 50MP 3x telephoto camera

It's said to use the same 200MP sensor from the S23 Ultra, though.

This is a most welcomed update for me. I'm a mobile photography enthusiast, and I've been complaining about manufacturers using subpar sensors for telephoto. I do use the 10X on the S23 Ultra and it makes my IPhone bite the dust.

Good news!

No doubt it'll probably be binned to 12mp, but this should offset the loss of detail from their infamous noise reduction.

Samsung's getting a little closer to cooking but they need to turn off noise reduction or remove it entirely and stop binning to 12mp for the primary so they can actually use the lens sensors to the fullest.
(Yes, initial comment got cut off)

remove ultrawide as well. put a depth sensor😂😂😂

year by year, smartphone company didn't bring a new significant improvement to the table. i remember when google make announce about google glass, despite the privacy issues etc, man, i'm so excited even if i can't buy it, thanks to my rotten wallet. but today it's just another xx mp camera, xxxx battery blah blah..
i know that making some new technology is not as easy like spitting to the neighbor yard, but something in my heart went cold, and colder.

          Thats a great news!
The 3x telephoto is the best for portraits.

Samsung sees the competition are beating the S23 Ultra's 10mp by using high resolution sensors to crop in too. Its a necessary move and Samsung is well aware of it if they want to keep their zoom crown.
