First sighting of Samsung Galaxy S24+ with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 running Geekbench 6

09 August 2023
The Gen 3 chip changes how the four CPU clusters are divided. The prime core doesn't run at 3.7GHz as some rumors suggested.

I thought the whole point of using a710 and a715 on the snapdragon 8 gen 2 was to still enable support for 32 bit apps. But I thought the snapdragon 8 gen 2 was gonna be the last 32 bit chip from snapdragon, so why would they still use different CPU cores for the performance cores if its going to be 64 bit? I guess you could say that it's to reduce power consumption a bit, but I still don't get it.

Anunu, 09 Aug 2023bruh I've seen people using social media on a oneplus ... moreI disagree. In a civilized world, eMMc 5.1 would be banned. Instead, phone makers are still using it for e-waste phones.

This "Orchard like" obsession with synthetic benchmark Snapdragon / Exynos is blinding everyone to the truth a benchmark doesn’t a phone make.
      Geekbench favours IoS not Antutu

      Looking to the future
I can assure you that Exynos 2200 will not be incorporated in the S23 or S24 range

Apple IPhone 15 Pro Max range will use the misnamed A17 Bionic

In October 2023 real world results of phones using Mediatek Dimensity 2300 will hit the market, before after, contemporaneous We will find out the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 cortex names and if that wasn't enough, will Mediatek be the new King

And finally will Samsung Exynos 2400 erase the sins of the past.
Samsung have already (Article on this site)stated they will look at Exynos use in flagships only (continue to read,) Only, ONLY if performance merits it.

In order for Samsung to use Exynos globally, it has to be NOT an Exynos already released. It will also be better than Snapdragon 8 gen 2; 8 gen 3

We could have a situation where Dimensity is the flagship chip
Scenario 1 go Dimensity or Overpay for Snapdragon
Scenario 2 Qualcomm retains the crown, and either / both Samsung Mediatek figures are so close

Scenario 2 benefits Samsung user mainly, however both scenarios could or should lead to better specs and or cheaper handsets.

I have already posted on Exynos 2200 hatred on another article. Usain Bolt 1st Olympics, before he started winning were pretty dire, do we comment?

Whatever IPhones do in the vineyard doesn't matter to me, Apple have just sent out a rescue plea to stay afloat $100 per iPhone

The S23 range came our 6 month's ago yet people are still posting information based on what happened 18 months ago.

Chipsets like the MTK D8050(old 1300) or even the SD870 are still Easily good enough in terms of there performance for many people buying a new phone now, private firms are quick to convince you that you NEED "every box ticked" when buying a phone.

My Galaxy Tab S7 with its SD865+ alongside A77/A55 and 7nm node easily outperforms any notion that I really need the absolute latest most advanced chipsets from Qualcomm, MTK or Samsung in a new tablet.

In fact, Im very curious..if I could take that 865+ chipset and modernise it with Cortex A720s and A520s with the newer Adreno 730 at a lower frequency and adjusting it's overall performance levels to that of the 865+ realistically how efficient could it be made?

The article barely touches the question of whether the Gen 3 chip will support 32 bit instructions (which is why the current generation has two different types of performance cores). Reportedly they wanted to eliminate 32 bit this current generation, but Chinese apps are frequently still 32 bit only. So we may soon get to a point where the Google Play Store is 64 bit only, but no devices can reap any of the benefits because of markets Google doesn't even operate in.

how long testing was conduct? Motorola edge 40 pro out performed s23+ In antutu v9, might be do better cooling despite s23+ over clock. At the end better cooling system is what we need vs higher clock. Edge 40 pro also manage better battery endurance despite heavy load 165hz display and slight smaller battery
