Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra won't be heavier than the S23 Ultra despite the titanium frame

17 August 2023
Titanium is denser and tougher than aluminum so it would be interesting to know how Samsung achieved this.

The Ultra and Plus designs are very heavy and bulky, the Vanilla version is the best.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2023Titanium is heavier than aluminum.Although titanium is about two-thirds heavier than aluminum, its inherent strength means that you need less of it. In fact, you need a fraction of the amount of titanium to get the same physical strength you would get with aluminum

Even cropping that x2 is just okey, nothing more. 50 Mpix is v good but only in daylight, 200 is ok only in perfect light situations. Honestly, I do not use that at all, I prefer GCAM. Despite smaller output (12Mpix) rendering of details is much better and much more predictable.
But if you talk about only social media, like instagram, where you see anyways very small sized pictures, then yes - anything will do.

Watch the iPhone 15 Pro getting heavier by a gram despite switching from a heavier stainless steel frame to a lighter titanium frame. Just because of a bigger battery + camera.

As for how Samsung would achieve this, my guess is just continued density improvements of the battery. If you open up a modern phone, the battery is a very big part of the internals. Making the same 5000 mAh battery more dense means it becomes smaller and lighter. So probably same capacity and same charge rate, or maybe even slightly smaller capacity.
