Samsung considers cheaper Galaxy Z FE lineup after the Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 next year

More regular Fan Edition releases await starting next year.

    Z Flip and FOLD FE like Fan Edition???
    THere is nothing like fan.
    You like it or you hate it nothing between.
    And as long as the main screen durabuility is the main issue I.E. equal to sopa stone and repair cost almost as much as buying new device there is nothing like Fan Edition.
    All flips and *Folds regardless of the brand and because the main screen durability problem should be renamed to FE Feared Edition or Fail Edition.

    When first company does not matter from which brand make and release flip or fold with a screen which can bend, flex, fold but does not breaks and will be equal to GG Victus or better alsi user will be able to put propper screen protector on it for example Panzer glass which also can bend, fold, flex but will not break we can speak about a great device.
    One day this will be possible i am sure of it. But right here and right now this is a no for me and is a no for many else people who gave it a try but the device failed to impress.

      When they make GG Victus quality screen that can bend and fold and wont breaks it woont be garbage and thus its get usefull and so people can buy.
      Untill that no matter whether its a 500 eur device or Caviar made half million made of real 24k gold enrichted in diamonds and other gemstones still the main screen will be nail scratchable a quality equal to soapstone it will be gargage as flip and folds alaways were.
      Paying 700-1200 just for repair of said screen because its durrability is as bad as soap buubbles is no for me.
      Many of our customers at our stores would agree.

        Why not just keep the Z flip/fold 5 in the lineup for less?

                      Before they make FE series of flip i would think it be better to make flips that are budget and middle class. Just have low end hardware and low end camera for budget while for middle class just middle class hardware and camera

                      I would think they would sell like hot cakes for people who want compact size phones.

                      The problem with the modern phones is that they are just large like tablets with there dimensions. Yeah thickness goes down but that is the smallest measurement on the devices to make any difference. Even wideness dont matter that much as how much the tallness matters as when phones are 16cm tall these are not pocket friendly.

                      I remember my 140mm tall phone already was too big for my construction working pants pockets that were specifically construction work clothing with lots of pockets and large pockets.

                            They are gonna raise the price of the next gen fold and flip as apple is raising the price of the iphone 15 series.

                            The fold 6 FE is probably be priced the same as the fold 5 right now

                                  That's why its possible to sell it cheap when comparing also amount of materials (classic vs flip).
                                  If they really made camera centric foldable, it would be like mate x2 or something else, making full thickness available for camera sensors.
                                  Foldables right now are more like mid range phones with foldable screen.
                                  LG with their second screens would break a selling record now, giving top specs and more screen to the phone.

                                        The S20 FE had micro SD, the S21 FE did not and was a relatively poor seller.

                                        I have to admit it to a bias in that Flip phones have zero impact on me, unappealing but each to their own.

                                        Folds however do make up for the lack of interest in flips

                                        Folds are more expensive than the corresponding flagship chipping away at this formatisl meaningless imo.

                                        The price of the sometimes China only folds is approximately 2/3 of the Samsung Z Fold 5 well under.

                                        I have only looked at one China Only Fold Phone which can be bought BNIB.
                                        This does add approx £200 / €234 / $255 to the initial launch price

                                        Even that £200 is way less than the FE Z Fold 5.

                                        There could be a reason why the price hasn't fallen, in this main China only a finite number produced

                                        Albeit I focused on Fold only I could get a fully specced alternative cheaprr than a Fan Edition Z Fold.

                                        Possible problems getting updates for a non networked phone and make sure my 5G bands are incorporated.

                                        The future is uncertain and at present.
                                        China only phone is what these companies do now this is current corporate decision, if they abandon this fully specced fold will be less than Samsung.

                                        Whatever Samsung do now or in the future may not be it's choice alone, the OnePlus Open / V fold is due
                                        I hope its name sticks
