With a phone for at least 500 euro it should have 3 cameras. Wide, ultrawide and telefoto. Thats todays standard.

This score is way too low to be a Tensor G3. Atleast the way the phone should be released.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2023MOBA games are literally the worst example of gaming, they ... moreBecause playing a MOBA is literally just one thing of many I do on mobile. I bought the Pixels because of the plain Android UI, day 1 updates, price and Google's legendary image processing. I mainly play MOBAs on one of my 8" tablets. The Pixel 7a is my only device that can actually play these games at 90fps due to the ridiculous HRR whitelisting situation for mobile games. Practically every device I play on has hardware capable of pushing 90 or 120 Hz for these games. But yea I guess maybe only 2 or 3 of them can run Genshin Impact at 58fps for 3 hours, which seems to be the only reason you would need a flagship SoC to game.

And why would you pay for a phone with HRR if you're gonna settle on playing MOBAs out of all things? If that's the case, just buy one of those $130 Redmi phone with a 60Hz display along with the long-deceased Helio G99 SoC.

The myth of needing some high end phone to do mobile gaming is wrong. Many games need to be whitelisted by the developer to allow for HRR anyway. Unless you're just trying to prove you can run Genshin Impact at 58 fps for 3 hours, you probably don't need a flagship SoC to game.

Xiaomi has decided not to compete with Google in this space so the Google Pixel A is the right phone for the right market.

Cpt.Power, 24 Aug 2023Tensor G3??? Hope it runs pac man at least without laggs a... moreIt will work just fine I'm sure. I have 4 Tensor Pixels sitting in front of me all running fine with no problems. I'm a happy customer. The phones do what they are supposed to do. Chasing the highest numbers on the spec sheet is for chumps. It is important that the chip is sufficient to handle daily tasks and the phone is priced appropriately for what it is. Google has been more or less nailing this recently. The phones could be cheaper, but when compared to the competition landscape the prices are fine.

Anonymous, 24 Aug 2023This proves that chip optimized to OS is a myth. Google and... moreGoogle ditched Qualcomm and started to use their semi-custom chips fabbed at Samsung. This allowed them to pass on a significant price decrease onto the consumer. The comments on GSM Arena would have you believe this was a bad decision, but there is a reason why Google is selling more Pixels than ever before.

I read a lot of comments here saying to use Qualcomm processor but you guys are forgetting that Google isn't aiming for performance They just creating a balance and mostly Pixel devices are made for the general people. They are solely focused on the AI things. That's why they designed a chip for their AI stuffs.
Yeah that's all we all have heard but the benchmark scores tells a different story

Anyways... Poco (Xiaomi) is using Qualcomm Snapdragon chips which are made by TSMC, meaning they are buying what already exists in most of devices as a whole package, they don't customize anything and when they do on their higher models they are limited by what Qualcomm decided to have in their package. They would like to customize it and tailor to better fit some of their alghoritms thet needs, but they can't go far as they need to customize it.
In the other hand, Pixel has their "own" custom packages with Tensor G series of chipsets which they made in collab with Samsung. Why Samsung? Because Google has signed a special multi-year agreement with Samsung to be the main component suplier for Pixel line of phones. Yes, they been cheaping it out, but the reason why they opt to Samsung is because Samsung is not making just chipsets, it has a large portfolio of components which we can find in almost every phone out there. It has a lot of sense to make a deal with Samsung as they're the best selling devices in the world too, but the negative side to it is that infamous Samsung chipsets and its yields which are sub-par in efficiency in comparation to Qualcomm or even Meditak chipsets.
If Pixels were using Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets, they would beneffit from better N4 (4nm) against Samsung's N5 (5nm) but more importantly they would have far better efficiency, but on the other side it would't give them any edge from the competition. Pixel's experience hasn't been the most consistent in past few years due to their often software bugs which people are reporting, but the overall value of their phones is something which is hard to just ignore.
If you're a guy like me having a 3 happy kids running around all day and when you want to get sure you will get the great picture or a great video with Pixel i know my results will end up great.
I don't play games on mobile phone, but i do understand many people want to do exactly that. That's why you'll never see me say something like... yo if you need a camera just buy a dslr.. or if you wanna play games just buy a console or a pc

Why are Chinese phones made im China way more affordable in general then their western counterparts also made in China?
There is no comparation with Chinese phone brands if you're looking at specs per buck. Chinese will ALWAYS win if you're looking for that one thing, but phone is not just hardware. It's not like buying a new PC where you look for the best possible hardware for the lowest price, as almost all of them run the same operating system Windows, no skins and no special optimisation needed like we have with phones. In the past several years Pixel's maybe don't have the most consistent software experience but Xiaomi and their sub-brands Redmi and Poco never had a good software and it was always among the shortest on the market. Even when they did a good job on their software side it wouldn't last much as the next MIUI update would often screw things up agan and again testing out the users patience.
I personally just had one Xiaomi in my life, the Mi 9T Pro it as almost a flagship level of device back then mind you, but that phone was enough for me to seriously think about buying anything from these 3 brands again, because me with all my friends and collegues were reporting software issues with some of them having little bugs to those with more serious bugs, so it all depends who is using the phone for sure. Some people i been surrounded simply care for these annoying bugs less then others and they're happy with their device despite not being exactly perfect. Far from it.
Poco F5 or F5 Pro are valid choices if you want a good performing phone for lesser price, especially if you like playing mobile games. I am on several streaming platforms and many people like to stream COD Warzone Mobile. When ever the streamers needed a good performing phone for their mobile gaming i always reccomended them Poco F5 Pro. Yeah, i know F5 has similar performance but it if you looking at mobile gaming, 50$ price difference is worth it in Pro as that model has a better GPU which is essential im games.
Those streamers already have their main phones, they just need stronger phones to be their mobile console so things which are in lack on those phones doesn't matter to those users. They just want to game on it, that's it. They won't care about notification being late or not come at all until you manualy get in the app, they won't care for lacklustet camera results or anything except gaming and for that role i still reccomend Poco F5 Pro. But as i am not a mobile gamer at all, that means every Poco, Xiaomi (except 13 ultra which isn't available to buy in my country) or Redmi is out of the question for me just because i can't stand their software. Im not talking about design choices in MIUI which mimics iOS in lot of things, im talking about functionallity on their software part and i just dont trust it.
I shared this story to point out how different phones are but how different users can be. It all depends on your past experience too. Some people appreciate more performance, some better software experience, some better fluidity, some better cameras or something else. There is no universal anwser to question which is the best phone. There are too many factors involved.
Just my two cents

Here in the Middle East, we are eager to experience Pixel A series phones with an exclusive price and good experience and support, and if Pixel proves it can do better than Chinese phones at a reasonable price, we are eager to buy it.
