27 August 2023
Some people carry their phone with no extra protection, others feel safer with a protector. Some see cases as a style add-on, others as unnecessary bulk.

It is funny when some complain about SoCs that make phones overheat, but demand plastic back that makes it even worse, also put case on it.

I only use case know because it is plastic and it can scratch easily.
If it was glass like previous phone, no case again.

I have bought like over 30 devices and literally not one of them has had it. The only phones that I know that came with it from people I personally knew was One Plus.

If my phone had GG6 it would not be necessary, but in mid 2023 some brands still use GG3 when GG6 should be minimum even on $99 phones.

        Should be:

        GG6: $70-300
        GGV : $301-600
        GGV+/GGV2: $601-4000

Eventually, that one broke as well, but lasted more than others

How else will Samsung/Apple make money off you if you don't invest in their official cases/protectors?
I mean that's also why they have purposefully made all of your phones easier to break

Why I singled our Samsung and Apple is because some manufacturers still supply your phone with accessories in the box (Like Xiaomi or Oneplus) to some degree...

Hence, I put a case on but gotta say, whoever came with up the idea of putting glass on phones, istg if I find them...

404, 27 Aug 2023Indeed. Those Gorilla Glass shii is NEVER enough to protect... moreOnly Huawei Kunlun Glass is tough as f not even Gorilla Glass come close.

Well honestly have phones since evry long time.
As long as ui remember when i had Lenovo Vibeshot back in 2015 and lasted for 2 years i always had a book case for putting my ID and credit cards also paper money somewhere this was for me always a must have even with newer phones.
I also used a tempered glass screen protector when preinstalled one wore off.
For book cases i used the ordinary ones but they wore of in like month or three.
After a 3 changes i tried a leather case and voilaaaa my case lasted up to a time i bought my next phone which was Motorola X4 back in 2017 and had it for 4 years.
I sold my Lenovo Vibeshot back then to a friend the phone is still perfectly working even is almost 9 years old. And is still perfect as a day one because of said book cases and a screen protector.

My Motorola X4 i bought brown leather case from Alliexpress for like 2 euros back then when there were no taxes charges from equipment bought from abroad i mean onon EU countries. It lasted 2 years and after 2 years i bought exactly same case from same vendor at alliexpress. For a screen protector i had a tempered glass which with a good leather cover lasted 4 years as long as i had my phone. Apart small bubble in top right corner the screen protector were undamaged for whole 4 years and when i sold my phone to a friend it was in a perfect condition as good as new even i have a clumsy hands and in like 4 years phone fall to ground like 30-50 times. Good case and protector saved everything.

In last week of July 2021 i bought my Xiaomi Mi 11 lite 5G and from a Slovakian site heureka.sk i bought a quality purple leather book for 30 euros. this book with many spaces for my credit cards, insurance card, ID card, traveling card i mean public transport yearly pass, paper money and many else i could ftr in.
It make my phone very thick like 7-8 centimetres but case did its job perfectly and lasted 2 years until ibought my current Motorola 40 edge pro.
The preinstalled screen protector still works very well on my xiaomi phone and apart few bruises the plastic screen protector is in perfect condition. Whole phone is as good as new.
The only thing i changed was a 33W charger bundled in the box for original xiaomi 67W charger which reduced my charging speeds from 45 minutes to like 40 minutes. (Can confirm that since i tested it. Its only 5 minutes faster but founds its better sice it allows my phone to reach higher charging speeds for longer duration). In day one i bought a tempered glass 5D 9H for this Xiaomi which i never used and from a wish site green leather book case with plenty of pockets for my cards as a spare case in times of needs but i never used it. Since my first case is still good enough, Will sell this phone to a friend which lives in other part of the country because its still in 100% condition apart the battery.

Now to my current Motorola edge 40 pro which i have for 4 weeks and 6 days to be precise. I bought a purple leather book case with many spaces for my credit and other cards and public transport pass for 10 euros from heureka.sk site. After a month use even the phone is thick like 7 centimeters case is still in top condition phone is still in top condition.
Since this came without any preinstalled screen protector and screen is curved i am right here and right now not using any screen protector apart the gorrila glass phone come with.
Bought one more leather book case from wish site for 5 euros as a spare case in times of need when my current leather book case wore off.

Thus to my story with my phones past 8 years.
Lastly wish to say when comes to design Lenovo vibeshot was a phone with best design ever or at least i think so because when making photos the whole phone looking like a proffesional camera which i always liked.
Since i have rather to say clumsy hands i always had a case and some for of protection in my phone othervise i am able to break even unbreakable within few hours.
I dont care much about the thickness of the device because one pocket are filled with a home and work keys other with phone cable and charger and i am good to go to work.
And plastic, rubber or silicone cases are no for me since they have no space for cards and does not protect the screen. More protection is always better than no protection.
Even Murphys Law saying a buttered bread will always fall with a butter spreaded side on a floor. With my obvious luck i could break and buy new phone every day.

                            Thanks for reading and understanding.
                            Wish you all lovely day.

Wait a minute this is technically a repost from 2 years ago

Anyone who doesn't either don't care or got too much "f you" money
Still it's better to take care of your devices like it's a self discipline to yourself

Good thing most Android have screen protectors pre installed from factory. And I prefer the plastic ones. The “glass” ones are annoying on the edges, especially with gestures.

I really miss those rubbery plastic backs on older phones. Who came up with putting glass back, an easily breakable material, on a highly portable device like a smartphone? Used to have phones ceaseless when plastic was the norm. Now, you are forced to use case unless you are super careful.

I see cases as a good thing for customisability, and because phones nowadays have glass backs, they will easily get damaged, so it's pretty much mandatory to get one. Screen protectors though, I will never use one again after I used one on my old phone. It was cheap film that felt awful to the touch, and it easily cracked. Never again. Also, even if I wanted to, my Pixel 7 Pro's curved screen pretty much prevents me from installing a screen protector, and I won't use Whitestone Dome Glass or anything similar because liquid glue is a nightmare to install and will eventually come off. It's just too much hassle for not enough reward. The problems with glare, touch sensitivity and reduced perceived colour contrast also means I will definitely never buy one, because those are things I would never sacrifice.

                                      Makes no sense.
But suit your self for costly repairs every week or month or so.
