Xiaomi will survive the hardtime (inflation).

The low-cost smartphone market is coming to an end.
Companies that grew their market share by selling lots of low-end products to poor countries may have had a happy time, but poor people can't change their phones every year, and eventually you can't sell them new phones anymore.

But rich people in developed countries are different: they can afford a new phone a few times a year just for the fun of it, even if their current phone is good enough.

As a result, Apple's iPhones sell the most phones every year, Samsung follows closely behind, and Xiaomi or BBK are left behind.

Sales and revenue going down but profit going up basically means they are making more profit on sales than last year which means the mark up on the cost has gone up (they are charging more basically). Consumers would prefer a lower rather than higher markup as consumers are looking for cheaper prices. Shareholders look for higher profits.

I feel Xiaominisnpast it's glory days. If you see 2 tech giants Nokia and Blackberry, they were the leaders for a decade or two. Nokia from early 80s to late 90s and Blackberry few years after that before iPhone was released.

Xiaomi has gotten into too many things it shouldn't have gotten into (read greed). Now they are planning cars. They have hair trimmers and fans and other gadgets which make no sense for the brand identity.

The other big problem was when the Mi1 came out or even the first Redmi device, they were known as iPhone killers. Killer specs at 50% price. All that has changed over the years. Now they produce mediocre phones at prices more or less equal to competitors. Bad software with bloatware and ads. Poor QC with Poco devices failing in a year. Lot of issues.

Xiaomi is dead. Now new entrants are coming like Nothing or some other brands like Infinix Tecno etc that have taken over the budget king crown.

AnonymousCRL, 30 Aug 2023I think some of the major reasons are as follows: 1) Dead ... moreThe entire smartphone market is in a slump. Xiaomi still holds on to their placement, with around 11-13 % market share depending on the quarter of the year.

Wow, maybe if you put ads inside the OS itself, and continue to destroy Redmi note pro series by not supporting jack, SD and 4k video recording, which your brand grew in the first place, people will stop buying your phones ? :D

Notafanboy-Fanboy, 30 Aug 2023Xiaomi 13 Ultra was globally released.Good luck finding one. It is not in Norway yet. Even then Pro has limited availability.
In their own online shop it hasn't been in stock for what I have seen. Same thing with other official partners. The listing is there, but out of stock and no date. Only the 13 and lower end devices available.

The Ultra isn't listed at all in Norway.

I hope availability will be better for the 14-series next year. Otherwise I think it will be a Pixel 8 Pro next time. The 7 pro is currently about half (7500 NOK) the price of the Xiaomi 13 Pro (14000 NOK) here - and it is available. Making the pixel a very tempting offer.

I think some of the major reasons are as follows:
                            1) Dead motherboards and hardwares like camera sensor in Poco devices.
                            2) Bad display panel (Tianma with Black Crush in Xiaomi 11 series devices for example).
3). Too many phones with less software support
                            4) MIUI 12.x to 14.x look the same without any major differentiating feature. But the geeks install custom ROMs anyway.
Their bad QA led to people not prefer Xiaomi devices.

Xiaomi and other chinese phones are now so overpriced in the Czech Republic. 2 years ago, realme was No4 with 220% growth over the year. Now they are in the other category. Xiaomi is now No3 here with 13% of market share. Samsung No2 with 30% and Apple No1 with 31%. The new No4 is Motorola with 7%. Only chinese company can sell here phone with Snapdragon 778G for 729 USD. Yeah that is the price of Reno 10 Pro here. Also vivo with Snapdragon 695 for 450 USD, same price as A54. Or why should you buy Xiaomi 13 Pro for the same price as S23 Ultra or iPhone 14 Pro Max.

If they had launched all their phones internationally (13 Ultra, 11 Ultra, 12s Ultra, Mix fold 3 and many more)

While keeping the price point 10 to 15% from Samsung.

They might have been world leader.

"Calculations showed the average sale price of a Xiaomi smartphone slightly increased from CNY 1,081.70 ($148.80) to CNY 1,112.20 ($154.37), primarily due to increased ASP in China."

They are to blame themselves for this, their focus totally shifted, they became so popular only because to provided value at the price they sold, K20 Pro 11X Poco F1 these had flagship features at a budget friendly price. They started thinking of Samsung Iphone territory phones and lost the loyal middle class customer, Realme Vivo Oppo grabbed the opportunity and even Samsung upped their game to show Xiaomi their place, I waited so long post 11X to get a decent flagship from them it never came and after using Xiaomi phones for 7 years ditched them For a S22 Ultra !
