Flashback: the Sony Xperia XA Ultra had an amazing selfie camera with OIS

It was among the very first phones to have this feature and Sony's implementation was better than HTC's. The XA Ultra also had an impressively large 6" display.

If modern smartphones had 95% head-to-body-ratios and had equal-sized bezels, they could have 1/2.5"-type selfie cameras, and potentially even with OIS, just like this old Sony phone. There is enough space to do so, even with a punchole cutout, but the bezels are somewhat in the way.

I would love it if a company did this setup for their selfies:
•50MP, 24mm (wide), f/1.4+f1.9, 1/2.5"-type, 0.7μm, multi-directional PDAF, Laser AF, dual OIS (3-axis sensor-shift, 2-axis lens-shift)
•50MP, 12mm (ultrawide) f/1.4+f/1.9, 1/2.5"-type, 0.7μm, multi-directional PDAF, Laser AF, dual OIS (3-axis sensor-shift, 2-axis lens-shift)
•0.3MP, ToF 3D LiDAR (depth/Laser AF/biometrics)

    Back when I still desired an Xperia! I loved the non existent side bezels.

        Imagine size to fit 1/1.67".
        The photosensitive are alone is more than 7mm tall, then add the sensor frames.
        10mm bezel would not be enough.

        Obviously that 2024 or 2025 devices will be using exmor T of 1/2.9" or bit smaller.

              It'd be hilarious if Sony put the same 12MP 1/1.7" camera sensor from the 2020/2021/2022 Xperia 1/5 primary camera as the front camera on the next-gen Pro-I. After all, they all can do 4K/120fps video recording.

                              The C3 Ultra, XA Ultra and XA2 Ultra was like few of the Sony phones I wanted to have. It was great minus the mediocre chipset. I wish Somy made an Xperia 10 Max or Ultra variant for those wanting a more larger display but at an affordable price. It would be one model worth getting out of the current smartphone lineup that's not a flagship.

                                it appears you have one of them. anyway, phones nowadays even expensive ones do not even have front led flash!! perhaps no one ever took a selfie at dark environment? or maybe they have a use of bright oled screens.
