Only minuscule people and tech nerds care about speed comparison. This is the truth. Say anything you want, doesnt change the fact that samsung user are the majority.

Their S series is high quality, because they actually make those phones, their A series is made by OEMs like Wingtech.

                  Samsung have saturated the entire phone range from entry level to flagship.

                  The A54 imo gets so many hits as it is the top of the "A" range. People use the A54 as a point of reference for price and specs (it is / isn't reflected in sales?)
                  e.g the A54 is now second to a newly released Huawei Mate 60 Pro

                  You simply cannot retain that many specs when source a new phone
                  On this comparison ( I'm trying to look at this comparison without Gsmarena in my pocket)

                  Both are available directly from the company at exactly the same price however Samsung A54 6+128 is less than the Poco F5 8+256 (both available SEALED BNIB for less) £449 Samsung Unchanged and launch price.

                  You have to look at this in the real world, and last Sunday
                  08/27/2023 Gsmarena weekly deals had the Samsung A34 £100 off at £250 from launch price 28% off. It ends in 2 days time 5th September.

                  Ok so now I'm shopping and instead of leaning towards the Poco F5 I get a chance of getting as the A range lieutenant for £250 so £200 less
                  There really cannot be any justification in paying £200 more or saving of 44%

                  As Rag'n'Bone man would have said "trying to retain different phone specs and price is too much"

                  They are either viewing the A54 as the target or a guide. then you can compare one on one.
                  Am I overpaying for this feature

                  Essentially we just want to maximize the phone we getnfor the price paid.
                  There are people who it is flagship or nothing, some just a good all round phone.
                  As you can see from the comments it's all about NOT overpaying, on paper the Poco 5 wins.

                  It is unlikely that either phone will be sold new at £250 anytime soon.

                  Timing serendipity whatever if I went out and bought a phone not on my shortlist for £200 less. Happy I made compromises.

But again pricing is absurd. But rest of things are fine. If Oppo/Vivo/Xiaomi are available globally, then Samsung will have lower sales.

                                  A54 is a big letdown in the performance department this year. A53 last year was also a big letdown because it had the same soc as A33. They should've put at least a Snapdragon 7 gen1 in the A54 to differentiate it more. Oh...that would canibalize the S23 sales right? of course smart Samsung...

                                        Poco F5 is a clear winner versus A54 with better chipset and faster charging. Exynos needs to be optimised and compete better to be under consideration now. I have used Exynos and Snapdragon for a while now and feel no reason one should go for Exynos currently.

                                        I use a S20 FE 5G and nowadays carry a power bank because my phone is unable to make it through the day on a single charge. On 4G, I'm not at all worried but 5G helps me with my remote work. So, Samsung with 25W charging now isn't competent.

                                          11 of 15
