        people in these hyper-niche tech spheres seem to think that because they don't care, it means that everyone else doesn't. you don't know the average consumer as well as you think you do

                  It's a conversation starter, most NORMAL people don't look down on people just because they don't have an iPhone or Samsung phone. That's just simply not a normal thing to do.

                  When I was daily driving my Infinix Zero Ultra, (which I still have and love btw, just currently not using it) people asked me about it.

                  -"What is it?"
                  -"Is it any good?"
                  -"Where did you buy it?"
                  -"Would you recommend it?"

                  Things like that.

                  I'm sick of using the same phone that I see every day, I feel much better about having a unique choice of mine when it comes to phones. My current daily driver is a vivo X Note, also a great conversation starter.

                                A refurbished iPhone 12 costs at least 476 usd in my country, and that's for the 64GB variant, yes 64GB and obviusly as it's an iPhone it doesn't have an SD Card slot. Slower charging and no accessories in the box. The display is 60hz vs 144hz, it has a huge notch and can't macro shots. Both phones offer 5G. I don't see that as a great deal, sorry.

                                The fact that both of you had to compare this brand new phone to older phones, just shows how there is nothing like this currently on the market, and nothing that would be better than the Zero 30.

                                Not everyone likes iPhones or buying refurbished ones. Buying a used iPhone is especially risky.

                                  It's amazing how something that every mid-range phone used to have 2 years ago is now being marked as a highlighting, exclusive feature.
                                  Yes, I'm referring to 4k selfie video and 4k video in general. In 2021, almost every midrange on the market most likely had 4k30fps on selfie camera. Nowadays, you are lucky to even find 4k on the main camera. Amazing how features were removed and now being reintroduced as highlighting features.

                                  Nonetheless, decent phone.

Since below 350 USD, you seem to demand all companies to use either a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 or a Dimensity 8100-8200. So that leaves the POCO F5 and X4 GT as the only good options, and the other three or four phones that use those chipsets, whatever their names are.

                                      There might be a reason why those chipsets have so limited availability (hint: probably the price Qualcomm and Mediatek are charging for those parts). POCO is well known for cutting corners in several aspects just to get that level of performance.

                                      Don't get me wrong, my dream phone would be something like the F5 with SD slot and better cameras, but we work with what we're offered. And if something isn't good enough we speak with our wallets. That doesn't mean the other options that don't cut it for you are bad choices, they might just do well enough for other people's needs.

                                        That has better camera overall, better chipset, longer update, 5g.
                                        Not every person like infinix phones.
