JayRoar, 07 Sep 2023Thanks for the info! Im hesitant to get the china version ... moreIf it's working for your friends it should be ok. Mine seemed to mostly fine when I went home from China this summer. The only major issue I had was google maps seemed to automatically disable the voice when I was using it in the middle of car journeys. I gave every permission possible and full battery permissions but it still seemed to happen. The voice would be there at the start of the journey but would disappear sometimes in the middle of a journey and the only way to get it back was to restart google maps and enter the destination again. This may have been specific to my phone though. I ended up putting the sim in my other phone as I couldn't figure it out. The other issue would be poor 4g signal in rural areas due to no band 20 so it would often switch to 3g. Not an issue in more built up areas though.

I think a lot more consumers are likely to complain if battery life is poor rather than for aggressive battery management. Personally, I don't mind it as I prefer to have better battery life. Like I said though, this is a pure guess so it could be something completely different

        How about the ultra?

I like GSMArena to tell news like this, now if you guys can give news about Xiaomi updates every day with every phone people will feel bored because Xiaomi gives a lot of updates to their phones.

Now samsung fans dont like this and start spamming the comment sections

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2023Let's pretend a well done android skin needs 24gb ram ... moreSuch a foolish Samsung dog but guess what? Miui needs 2gb ram to work smoothly on a device while one UI lags at 4gb ram devices heck it's an established fact that xiaomi miui is the fastest android ui so far faster than pixel and u can get over 95percent iOS smoothness on miui. ( This according to data by a lot of YouTubers and influencers from Twitter)

Im hesitant to get the china version because i had a bad experience with the mi10 ultra regarding notifications and problems with my bank apps.
But i heard with some friends with 13 ultra all seems to work in our country without problems.

Don't expect it to be fast update. But Xiaomi does have better track record of supporting MIUI longer than the OS so not surprised they can support OS just as long. Wished MIUI was just less cluttered.

And even if they miss out on a feature, surely a 3rd party program out there will make up for it.
They should cry for security updates instead.

Because my 12t and f3 can have many games open or any apps for that matter and never kill them, except this one game clash royale which tend to restart if i put it in the background for about 10 to 15 secs

Xiaomi uses third parties to provide the services for their music player (they use QQ music), and video player in China. You can pay a monthly or yearly subsription fee to become a VIP user and that way you can avoid the ads. Good to hear the global models are different though

If that's the case do you happen to know why some Chinese skins tend to have an aggressive RAM management by default (although they can be disabled or mitigated)?

Xiaomi:We are giving 4 major OS updates for the 13T/Pro.

Also Xiaomi:We are giving 3major OS updates for the more expensive 13Pro(same story with 11T).

Meanwhile Poco only give 2 major OS updates even on the more expensive F5 Pro.

Anyway, this is good news in general. Now only companies like Sony,Asus etc are only giving 2major OS updates.

Mine are global versions. My redmi note 10 pro, which i already sold, did have some ads but just took me less than 5mins to completely remove them.

This news by xiaomi is a welcome development.
Hope they start with the lesser models too
