About the Android migration, and I'm going to speak from the perspective of my circle, most of my friends migrate because of the camera or other hardware features like stylus support. In the case of my 14-year-old youngest sister, she ditched iOS for Android because of apps. I asked her whether she wanted to return to the iPhone, but she said "no" and never missed it. She's now more comfortable with Android.

Ummm... which part did the OP talked about the Xperia 5 first? The OP really did talked about the Xperia 1 first of all, then followed by the Xperia 5.
His conclusion is rather interesting though since there aren't that many iOS user who would bravely migrate to Android. Usually, it's always the other way around.

Meaning higher res than Samsungs.
If the iPhones periscope happens to be 1/2, then the Samsung wouldn't even have a huge sensor size advantage being just slightly larger than the crop of an 1/2.
