Finally a simple and sensible option,
-Which should have been added to ALL phones 5 years ago, long before optimised charging and other over-engineered, unnecessarily complicated solutions to a simple problem.
Let users be in control and manage charging -since they know best when it is worth trading a full charge for battery life on their own phone

A research paper shows that you can extend battery life by upto 2 times (that's 3 times of original) by charging only upto 80% of total capacity.

Plus, we're using 80% of battery, not 20%

This is available on new samsung phones for more than 2 years.

"Notably, this is different from the Optimized Battery Charging feature as seen on some Android phones, which would keep the phone at 80% and fill the rest just before you unplug the phone as it learns from your charging habits."

But the same as the battery protection option that's been available in a larger number of other Android phones for years.

"and only brings benefits if you like leaving your phone on the charge for a long time such as overnight charging."

or if you don't like to sit watching your phone charging so that you can unplug it before the level goes too high...

My Rules of charging, 14 Sep 2023Never limit the battery charge because you have the option ... morethat's the good list of rules to ruin your battery ASAP

i got just one: don't charge your phone over 80%, and don't discharge it lower 20% (40% is better, but not feasible if you are heavy user or your phone's battery is less than 5000 mAh)

if you are a gamer, buy a gaming phone that allows split charge, ie your phone can be used directly from the socket while your battery is charging

I allow it to go to zero as often as possible but put it on charge as soon as it is down to zero..
