The pixel 6 and 7 also have these features and Android allows you to activate or deactivate it as you want, Samsung allows it too! so nothing new in the orisonte

When it takes so long for (most) Android OEMs to implement a genuinely useful feature that Apple ends up doing it first. Android needs to step up its game with implementing features people want rather than locking itself down even further. No wonder Android keeps bleeding users to iOS.

Its good that iPhone 15s are gonna get this useful feature.
But limiting this straightforward feature to newest iPhones alone is not good.
But hey,we are talking about Apple here, everything is a opportunity here.

You don’t need to limit the battery charge on the fruity phones. They are already limited by charging speeds from the year 1998, so no worries!
And even if you let it charge to full, the fruit logo company will kindly throttle the performance of the chip after a while, to make sure you have a healthy battery! (And totally NOT to indirectly force you to buy the latest model!)

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2023Thank you xperia for creating it 6 years ago. My Xperia XA2 does it too (but I've never used it). But Apple invented it, patented it, and believe they own it, As with everything they copy...

[deleted post]GSMArena can't win...
Posts a couple of articles after a Apple event = "They must be Apple fanboys"
Posts a couple of articles after a Samsung event = "They must be Samsung fanboys"
They just what the traffic from people looking up stuff about the new products.

ASUS and Sony first did this, and it's great to see more brands taking attention to it. If we can't have removable battery, at least give us this kind of feature.

Gsmarena, some brands have both.
Set battery to stop charging completely at 80% .
And another option to slow down after certain %.
As distinct functions.
Even old XZ Premium has both.

Nice feature for those who like to keep their battery healthy, since charging up to a certain percentage instead of going all the way to 100% can increase the battery's longevity.
"But doesn't Android alread-"
Probably.
