We think it doesn't matter that Samsung increase the camera. It just depend on ppi only. If you have 16 megapixel camera mobile phone and the camera are 700 ppi . You always click a brilliant photography.

Honestly, I do not understand this technically. I just need a phone that can produce daily photos/videos with more than good result constantly (not sometimes good, sometimes so so, and sometimes bad).
And I just got to know the distortion of the portrait mode which I cannot feel before and after....

Samsung just wants to sell more of their crappy sensors.

I think 200mp sensors actually make more sense as telephoto, than main, so this would be a good move for the S25 Ultra.

Did you really think they'll use 200mp behind a telephoto lens? No you fool! They'll use "lossless zoom" as an excuse to remove telephoto altogether. These garbage 200mp cameras have tiny pixels and only 12.5mp worth of colour resolution.
Get ready for 10x telephoto removal in S24 ultra. They'll put a 200pm sensor behind the 3x lens and claim 12x "lossless" zoom. Of course, the shill reviewers on GSMAarena and elsewhere will claim it's better than the traditional 10x telephoto.
Soon in future there will be no telephoto, or even ultrawide sensor. Rather just kne5 1000mp or so sensor with unimaginably small pixels will be used for everything. Oh, the poor performance caused by such tiny pixels will be

While it sounds relatively simple to understand what is "10MP 3x", actually it gives no info for this lens. The only meaningful sentence in the material was the conclusion "For starters, the main camera on today’s phones it way to wide for a good portrait and it causes distortion. This is why longer lenses are preferred". Since in the phones are used 2 or 3 fixed focal length lenses, there is no room for 3x or Zoom terms. This applies to varifocal lenses. But this is not important. More important is what lens is used for the long module. For example in Galaxy S23 is used 70 mm lens which is good for shooting standing people. But if someone wants to crop the center of 200 MPx image shut with 24 mm main camera and to present it as 200x zoom, it is still 24 mm shut object with all prospective deformations from the wide main lens.

One moment the trend is 12 Mpx but high quality, the next moment it's 200 mpx. But for some reason photos from both look almost the same. Like my Note20 Ultra has 12 and 108 mpx cameras but I can't distinguish between two same photos even when I zoom in unless the larger photo was taken outside with good light and even then the difference isn't huge.

ashrobb, 19 Sep 2023Flagships at least have telephotos to fight that issue, but... moreI think for midrange, they should be using ultrawide only if they use 35mm main lense.

COME out of Dark Age..
For current consumer display.. A photo should be at least 16 megapixel to show proper details.
For me the sweetspot is 20-25MP.

P C M, 19 Sep 2023Finally someone mentioned distorted photos for human subjec... moreFlagships at least have telephotos to fight that issue, but yeah I agree. Specially on the midrange where all of a sudden they decided to not include telephoto cameras anymore, the segment has decent main cameras but they're terrible for proper portrait pictures.
I'd rather take a single main camera that is flexible and has a 35mm or equivalent lens, or a main cam + telephoto combo rather than the old, crusty and mostly useless main+ultrawide+macro/depth combo they have settled with.
Current main lenses are wide enough.

Finally someone mentioned distorted photos for human subjects. That's why I have no interest for flagships like iPhone or Galaxy s23ultra.
Kinda liking ZTE's approach. Let's see what they come up with.
I am not buying a flagship unless they provide bigger than 1/1.6" sensor and at least 70mm FP and faster than f2.8 aperture.
I don't like the modern trend of using a 23mm main lens which is too wide to take human portraits.

The new hot thing should be 5-10 Inch sensor or 100 times regular zoom not digital one.
Or phone camera with equal or better capability than Mark IV by Canon brand.

Is there enough space to fit a periscope or conventional tele lens on such a big sensor? I wont mind a bulge tho.

Main camera's : goes up to 200mp
Telephoto cameras: goes up to 200mp
Ultra wide: 8mp LOL! 😂
Macro/depth: 2mp for all eternity
Dedicated low light camera lens: DEAD from the market... last seen on the Lenovo Z6 pro.. which I am disappointed about imagine if that technology got time to grow maybe we wouldn't need a night mode
