And FYI, the minimum wage (where most people paid on) on the biggest city were on par with the single chinese Android midranger. That's on the biggest city. The lowest minimum wage is just half of that. So iPhone is out of question for most people here.

The cheapest iphone you can buy today that will last you 6 years is iphone 15 and it costs here in EU 949 €.
If one needs a simple cheap phone with many years of support, there is samsung A34 for €275. It has 5 year of updates (4 major OS upgrades).

Second point, where you get the idea that an Android phones that out of update support suddenly unusable? My good old Galaxy A50 is over 4 years old now and it still up and running well enough for daily usage.

If you over anyone two items on different prices (in a wide margin), it's a no brainer that most will pick the expensive one, whether they like it or not. They can still sell it to buy the cheaper one they like and keep the extra money.

An €800 iPhone that will be usable for 6 years?

Or a €500 Xiaomi that will be usable for 3 years?

Like I said in my original comment, price is not in favour of the Xiaomi if you consider the longevity of the phone.
