r31ya, 23 Sep 2023With my experience of broken ass Poco X3 software at launch... moreDon't get me started about X3, for 2.5 years of ownership they didn't deliver a single update which I could say was good

                  1. For first 1.5 years the poco launcher and phone's interface dropped frame rate to 20-30fps so 120hz display was useless

                  2. After that they removed adaptive refresh rate so battery life went bad

                  3. Bought it back and now any PIP video would make the entire phone run at 30fps

                  4. Widevine certification would break after 3-4 minutes of Netflix and only a restart would bring it back for another 3-4 minutes

                  5. Dual apps storage broke in android 11, one couldn't access dual apps storage from any file manager for almost 6-7 months

                  6. When they fixed it, Using a cloned app e.g. whatsapp both apps would write to same whatsapp folder and it'd break all backups and overwrite primary and cloned apps databases over each other.

No miui 12.5, 13 or 14 features actually made it to X3 so it was pretty much the same crap for 2.5 years.

Even in 2023 I'm ok with android 10 as far as features are concerned (even android 9 but it lacks dark mode) but I'd like a stable software experience. So I'd happily pay a 25-40 percent premium for same specs to any other brand (bbk electronics, transsion holdings or samsung all are better than xiaomi) and the price gap between realme, redmi is now close to none.

Example: In my place, most of my friends that use iPhone still use iOS 15 (or lower idk, I know that because of the lock screen model) on their home button-less iPhone. My friend's S10 still running some older version of OneUI (I forgot which one, maybe OneUI 2, but the Control Center is a bit different where the clock on the top is left-alligned). When I ask them about software update, most of them answered with smth like "What's software update?"

Still no MicroSD card slot. Damn. Little hope that it'll be present in Global versions, since RN12 didn't really have it either. And just right when I was looking for an upgrade!

Even if you're care, you can still custom-ROM your "no longer supported" Xiaomi devices, at least mostly limited to the one that uses Snapdragon.

                                        Impressive weight.
If only it has an memory card slot and that selfie camera should have been 32mp, then I'll definitely consider this phone.
