AnonD-1120144, 22 Sep 2023Smart people. You wouldn't know anything about that though. Smart people would buy a phone to fit their usage, be able to make an educated guess of what they actually need and would not care about resale value. If reselling everything makes someone smart then my definition of smart doesn't match yours.

Anonymous, 22 Sep 2023Samsung doesnt get 5 years new android versions so stop lyingThey are talking about custom ROMs base on Android 13, like Pixel Experience or Lineage OS.

Anonymous, 22 Sep 2023Can anyone answer how many upgrades iPhone get in 5 years? ... moreIn 5 years, tens of updates.
I can tell you with my iPhone 11 Pro Max I received I think 4 or 5 updates just in last 1.5 month alone, since I bought it. This includes small updates or patches (for some bugs fix or some vulnerabilities fix). The smallest I think it was 150Mb, the biggest (IOS 17) was 2.88Gb. And similar frequency I had with my previous iPhone Xr.
Not even my past Samsung phones (including the newest models just released) didn't get so many updates in first 1-2 months.
Chinese ones, well.., my past Xiaomi 11T I think didn't received 4-5 updates in 6 months while I had it, lol. Maybe 1 or 2 maximum (not OS updates by the way).

Support in Apple is unmatched in Android world. Not even by Samsung. And I am not talking longevity here, I am talking frequency of updates. But, don't believe my word for it. Try it for yourselves before next time you comment something.

I'm asking about upgrades (iOS versions) and not security patches.

So, you tell me not to look positively at this phone just because 1-2 users are still having it, but you look positively at the Note 9 just because you have it. And maybe 1-2 users out there. So, yeah.. lol.

Anonymous, 22 Sep 2023True, been using my iPhone 7 for 7 years without any issues... moreI didn't receive any updates on my iPhone 7 plus released one year after your phone since an year. But you received recently??!! You are super lucky. Also camera wise that phone is useless. Even my iPhone 7 plus compared to my Note 9 released a year later in 2018. For phones calls, messages like basic things anyone can use an Android too for years. No one stopped.

AnonD-1120144, 22 Sep 202310 years maybe no, true. But 7-8 years is very much possibl... moreI have an iPhone 7 Plus Jet black edition bought in 2018. It came in the box with 88% maximum battery. I don't know that's the battery capacity issue and missed fixing it under warranty. Later I paid $60 and got it fixed. Now the phone is with me and I am not at all interested in using it because it really outdated. I don't know who is using in 2023 as you said. I bought a Note 9 released in 2018 refurbished unit in 2022 and still prefer that over iPhone 7. Now I am using S22 Ultra. I use both these phones. Note 9 especially for camera. So, iPhones don't stay that long. Because one or two users using doesn't mean they are usable for 6 to 7 years. And go and see the comments in any iPhone 15 YouTube video and how many iPhone 12,13 and 14 users say they are going to buy 15.

Those days gone. I don't know why still people feel iPhone as a status symbol but everyone has iPhones now. Androids are sometimes pricier than iPhones and in Canada most of the time I am a special guy with an S22 Ultra among a bunch of iPhone users at any time.

The hype to get a new phone is disappearing very quickly. Pretty soon no one cares new/old, the brand, chips etc. Just like the jouney over the last 10 or 20 years for the laptop.

Well, anyway, using iPhone for 7-8 years still make iPhone value for money. Ofc, over years, the performance may decrease to play the future app (esp game), but as long as we can use for communicating and using the camera, it is still enough for the next 1p years.

I believe that the camera of this present iPhone still produce the good (even the best) photos/videos for 10 years.....constantly.
