a lot of dispute over this phone, the same as every year! but they are selling like freshly baked pam and there is no black Friday, tasgivin or whatever they say and the Christmas season which is where the most phones are sold!! I congratulate Apple for such a good job, we just have to wait for what Google will present on the 4th and what Samsung will do in 2024 to stop the iPhone phenomenon

Let's look at the facts, iPhone always popular in China, 2nd thing, what's the difference between this year and last year, no import tax as it's used to foreign company even though it's made in China, now it's similar price in mainland China to Hong Kong where Traditionally more expensive with 20% tax as foreign brand than HK prices, used to be mainland China people come over to HK to buy, but now is similar price they don't bother and record Sales in China reported many folds than usual

And it still is, but Apple just released new phones so you just need to live with that, we will see exact same thing when Samsung S24 going to be released. Of course gsmarena gives more space for the devices which big mass of readers care. They have all the data and they see what articles get more traffic.

Ottonis, 23 Sep 2023It's important to note that Apple phones are largely ... moreI don't think so, one aspect of iPhone is that they was regarded as foreign brand and was subjected to 20% tax (this year is first that's iPhone don't have tax as there are 50% local Venture and 50% foreign now) that's why mainland China iphones used to significantly more expensive there than in HK where there is no tax and mainland people used to come over and buy lots of iPhone then.

AnonD-1120144, 23 Sep 2023What do you expect? Motorola or Realme news articles? Tho... moreI expect this site to be less biased and more objective and give all phone manufacturers the same amount of coverage. If I want to read 6 Apple articles a day I'd go to Macrumors or some specific Apple website but GSMarena has always been about phones in general

It's important to note that Apple phones are largely produced in China, so in a certain way, people may associate the iPhone as a product made in their own country.
Some 15-20 years ago when AMD built a microprocessor fab in Dresden, Germany, many German computer enthusiasts became AMD-fans and preferred their CPUs rather than those from Intel, because they felt attached to a product manufactured in their own country.
Another factor is that, over the years, Apple has built an incredibly strong brand recognition - probably as strong as Coca Cola or Porsche. Therefore, an iPhone may be a better status symbol than the latest and greatest flagship phones from Xiaomi or Huawei, despite being technically inferior in many aspects.

AnonD-1120144, 23 Sep 2023Why disappointing? That is just salty.
Let the people buy... moreThey don't enjoy using iPhones, they enjoy having thrown away so much money for a device that has been advertised for years as the ultimate luxury, though they cannot afford to buy it. The people who actually enjoy their phones are Android users, who get much more freedom of choice concerning accessories and apps. They can make anything they like out of their phones and they don't necessarily need to pay 1000$+ for their new phone unlike Apple users.
Apple users inly enjoy snob effect, while Android users enjoy using a phone that actuqlly serves their personal needs.

Maybe also the Dynamic Island feature as well, since now people seeing the front of your iphone 15 might mistake it for 15 pro.
SoC and camera upgrades might have also tipped the scales for some.

Of course it does, ever since there were USB-C rumors, people were holding of for the iPhone with USB-C. Now that it's out, they jumped on it. This wasn't exactly unexpected.

This is why US is trying so much harder to stop Huawei...
Because In china vanilla android is a joke...
Even though Huawei use to be Android brand, they have innovative features and separate eco system which made them so popular..
Banning Huawei the biggest chain for Apple in China

As I said in a previous article about the new crappy Redmi Note 13 series. Android manufacturers are in trouble. iPhone is growing it's popularity especially in under 30s.
99% of Android phones now are just knock-off iPhones. So there's no point in buying them. Might as well just get an actual iPhone.
I'm not happy about this or a fan of iPhone. But when I have to replace my phone. If there's no phones with headphone jack, microSD, FM radio except crappy ultra budget phones with awful SOCs then I will just get an iPhone.
I don't care about Sony unless they massively improve their software optimization and thermal management

Most important thing on phones are Best Photographs and 8K 60 Fps Video Recording with OIS... Only Iphone can do this for very affordable price. INTEL's, 2 nm & 1.8nm Chip's and GPU's will change everything in near future.

Let the people buy what they like.
The fact that some people buy what you don't like, doesn't mean they buy something wrong. And this is the case usually with Android users. They can't accept the fact that so many people enjoy using iPhones.

People who buy iPhones are buying them because they enjoy using them. The same like any other product purchase on this planet.

Not surprising. I can't justify paying flagship prices for a phone, but if I were to buy a flagship, I'd buy an iPhone.
