Having said that, even if I don't like Samsung at all, and I'm total weeb(!), I would not buy this Sony phone for 999€.

This is ridiculous. You can get so many better specced phones for almost half the price. I really want an Sony phone. Because, I like Sony, and I like Japan. But no...
I think it's true what the tech news sites are often saying, that Sony doesn't care much for selling those phones in numbers. They just want to have smartphones to offer a complete palette of electronic products for consumers.
There is no way that they don't know about their own market share, and they constantly making losses from their mobile section while Playstation/entertainment practically saves them.

Who own a Sony these days ? Here in London ,whilst out and about you NEVER see an xperia in the wild .

Still coping I see. I did answer your question. Plenty of people watch movies on their phones, where did I get sidetracked?

        I literally answered your question.

["Superior" aspect ratio does not alternate the fact that it is a tiny device. I agree that Xperia 1 is better for consuming media, but that has little to do with 5."]

Whether it's a tiny device or not doesn't matter. People have watched it on smaller devices and this device isn't that small. You're exaggerating how small it is.

The Xperia 1 and 5 have the same aspect ratio which was the original discussion topic and doesn't just include the Xperia 5.

A movie shot at 21:9 will look good on a 21:9 screen. This isn't hard to understand, but you seem to struggle with this concept for some reason.

"Try something new to deflect next time."

Try reading the reply again, I directly answered your question.

You: no one want to watch a movie on suck a tiny device
Me: Speak for yourself, there are lots of people who watch Netflix on their phones.

Maybe I should've been specific on the type of phone used (Multiple people on their iPhone 13 Pro).

Dead on arrival, Sony got too greedy, asking such a price after cutting too many corners. There is no logical reason to choose this over S23 unless you are a die hard Samsung hater or a weeb.

At 6.1 inch with said price is too small and too expensive for anyone.
Small phones are bad and really boring.
You cant cram good specs inside a small phone and if company as a very high price for it its even worse.

The one who confirmed wasn't even Sony themselves. Qualcomm did it. And we have been hearing this bulls since 2010 and 13 years later, it's still here, and now Sony Alpha needed Xperia to Collab even further, don't expect them stopping making phones at this near timeframe at all. And oh yeah, emphasized on the MULTIPLE years on the article.
