Anonymous, 26 Sep 2023but no north american version...Both the Japanese variant and the North America version will be announced towards the end of this month and release will be in October.

    Only problem is you need loooong pockets to store this phone in your trousers.
    Yeah, compact, in one dimension only.

      Had really high hopes for this phone, before the specs got anounced, that it would be a small packed flagship, with at least as good camera, and mainly as good specs as the Sony Xpera 1V. Unfortunally this was not the case, so for me I will hold off with upgrading my current Sony for a new phone for now, in hopes for another small Sony (preferably even smaller in size) but with top cameras including telescope.

      Tip to Sony from me: In case you need more space inside the phone for hardware, make it a little thicker, that should be able to make more room for optics and other camera related hardware, may even fit some more battery in there. Preferably adjust the size of lengt and width down, if doing so.
      Mabye if need of lots of thickness for top camera, consider making it a little rouned in the back, thicker at the middle and smaller at the edges. (I know this is not the regular Sony way of design these days, but maybe present it at a study group to see how it would be?)

        €1300 on 1v is far better deal than €950 on 5v.

        Also better deal than paying €1350 on S24 Ultra.

          It's a fantastic phone. What stops me getting one is the price, it only receiving two android version updates, and it being ultra flat (a slightly curved back and/or sides makes a phone much nicer to hold).
