                    We shouldn't forget what pixel OS updates mean. They've been killing hardware on previous Pixels like the main camera previously. People did regret updating. Keep that in mind.

                    And this promise of updates is especially insulting to all other Android users. Instead of all the promised project treble and other ways to keep all Androids up to date that is their unique feature now.

I can buy 3 K60 ultras(Or actually 1 currently and another 2 more objectively superior models in the future and these will outlast any of the crap Google pumps out,all for the same price.) The only fool in the room is you. 7 software updates means nothing if the device is overpriced to oblivion.

                              Besides, the lack of updates can be partially blamed on Google themselves. To get certified for GMS, OEMs only need to provide quarterly security patches for 2 years. OS upgrades are not required by Google. That’s why most OEMs only do the bare minimum, especially on their cheaper models.

People outside the US where no good trade in offers are given, iphones are used for 4 to 5 years easily. Using a mobile for 5 years is nothing really (as long as the hardware keeps up). It's only adolescents who who change phones every year or so.

Also you add the free watch which by itself is around 200 bucks or so, and yeah I'm failing to see your logic?

                                        I’m impressed, honest. 7 years of updates? Eat that Tim Apple. And the stuff with AI and ML are truly mind blowing. Meanwhile Apple is still talking about zoom. The only downside of Pixel is that Google simply doesn’t have the market reach of other Android OEMs, meaning all these great stuff will be quickly lost as majority of people can only buy either Samsung or Chinese phones.

                                        I really want to see what Apple’s response to that 7 years of updates. Google can do it because they make money elsewhere (advertising), so having their users not upgrading at all makes no difference. Meanwhile Apple makes majority of its money from selling iPhones. Extending software support that long will surely affect their bottom line.
