Are joking? HarmonyOS was a survival attempt after google ban and it literally killed Huawei mobile business outside china for good. Xiaomi's biggest strength is using all google services. It would be smart to use a new stable and modern UI instead of an in-house OS from ground. Just like samsung moved from tulouchwiz to oneUI.

Isn't the current MIUI basically also based on AOSP with all of Xiaomi's crap added on top of it? So MiOS would be either a new name or something similar to MIUI, just remade from scratch.

Why is everyone so pressed about the "OS" naming scheme? I know UI is more accurate but it's technically an OS even with the skin.

It will likely never improve if the company focus is to sell hardware for cheap and then try to make money off ads using software and selling data.
