Xiaomi tipped to replace MIUI with MiOS

It remains to be seen if MiOS will simply be another Android overlay UI or if Xiaomi is actually developing a new mobile operating system.

    Personally, i think Miui is a more appropriate name bcos all custom skins are basically modified UIs overlaid on top of Android OS.

    There must be noticeable differences for Xiaomi to consider a new name is necessary. Whether the differences are better or worse than Miui, i guess we can only wait and see

        Guess they want to have a more integrated system across multiple different products especially now that they are focusing on electric cars. It will take a few years to fully take shape similar to Harmony OS. Harmony OS definitely has the best integration of any of the Chinese brands across devices and is doing well in China. I think Xiaomi needs a few years to develop this before making judgment. Happy to see the change though as they'll likely put more and more effort into their software going forward

                    well, if they manage to make a consistent UI like V7 and earlier (especially V5) instead of this ugly mix of stuff that is the current MIUI I'll be more than happy.

                              Until then, please bring back Call and Message apps of Xiaomi, or allow us to install them instead of using Google's apps!
                              Also, allow us to remove every single Google's app without using an adb software

                                Whatever your opinion is, I'm sure we'll get used to the name after a while.

                                  Many Chinese manufacturers name their Android customizations "OS" as if they were their own operating system.

                                  But their operating system is still just Android, and in that sense, Samsung's OneUI is really honest.

                                    MiOS sucks, keep the MIUI name.
