12 October 2023
Scoring faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, naturally.

this is bad news. european buyers be panicking after this. did samsung not know about the heat it generates? they would have to prepare phone coolers everytime if they wanna use it.

If it's going to sustain more performance than this years iPhones then it will at the very least be a decent phone. Hopefully they learnt their lesson from Apple and their own overheating failures (especially the ones that end up burning down a whole plane).

While you may not Agree with soc like E1380 or E1330 but in reality it sold a lot of units and time to time you can see A54 in top 3 most sold Android phones.

So they need those mainstream soc to increase volume more than Enthusiastic soc like D8100 or sd7+ gen 2.

Rather I would say Samsung should make some killer chipsets for the high-end and midrange phones and tablets, then out compete all other manufacturers. Then leave their luxury phones and tablets exclusive with only the Snapdragon flagship processor. All that until their node is competitive or superior.

Too bad Samsung has an ego problem.

The problem is Samsung fabrication. TSMC continuously give better efficiency on the same or even larger node than Samsung. That is what Samsung need to fix. They can use the best chip design and cores, but if their own fab sucks, it’s pointless.

One year unstable gpu another year heat, another year using weak or in-house designed cores that they rushed to release and so on... but, the real problem is Samsung use them only on their devices and even one chip for specific model so, they don't have enough time and different devices that they could taste it on and they use Android so, the software isn't designed for one specific phone like ios and iphone. Also every year they try to do something new or different than Qualcomm and others to hope they would be better than everyone instead of doing safer move everyone does. At the end unfortunately the result is what you see.

If manufacture process has bad yields it's likely many Cpu to use more power, if yield is good those better binned cpu which consume less power will be used and those which use more power will be discarded or used as different product like SD 8+ gen 1 and sd 7+ gen 2.
