Highly doubt.

Do not forget, majority of homes even in USA do not even have 50Mbps internet.
How is someone supposed to get advantage of wifi7?

Jagganatha, 17 Oct 20233000 nits in sunshine is fine, I do not have any phone brig... moreYou can still take 48/50MP photos from most 48/50 MP smartphones and if you check the compare tool, most phones will outperform their 12/12.5MP mode when shooting in 48/50MP, especially in good light. Some even in low light, funnily enough. Something sub-optimal in the binning for low light.

If you want type 1 sensors on all lenses in a smartphone then it will be very expensive and if you want any tele, then also massively protruding and taking a lot of space on the inside meant for motherboard and battery.

I don't mind a protruding camera unit, as long as it doesn't protrude significantly when not in use. Hoping for proper optical zoom in smartphones and a type 1 sensor soon. Just one sensor, great optics and a actual zoom range from 15mm to 120mm. Would be big though, so perhaps 20-80mm is more plausible and still much better than 3 sensors.

pl2rts, 17 Oct 2023What do you do that it's even likely to get hacked ? I'm not sure if I understand your question. If a personal home NAS gets hacked, then of course all photos, videos and other files can be stolen. If a massive service like OneDrive or Google One gets hacked, they probably first and foremost go after big names. It's a massive ocean and I'm not a particularly visible fish.

You can also backup your files there in encrypted format. Encrypt the files in a container on your home computer before uploading there. Or use microsoft's own secure vault within OneDrive. Rogue workers there can still access the secure vault, but again they probably more interested in influencer chicks and other celebs. Local encryption prior to upload fixes it though.

If you have something you are particularly worried about, or solely backup your most sensitive stuff only locally, then you can still use cloud storage for the rest of your photo/video memories and files you don't want to loose in case of HW failure or other events.

In a few months wifi 7 routers will probably start from $100.

3000 nits in sunshine is fine, I do not have any phone bright enough to work with outdoors. It'll just get automatically boosted (if you let it) where needed. BUT, that said one does grow VERY tired of being robbed outright in the camera department. AXiaomi Note 10 has a 108MP quad bayer that produces 25MP stills from its main camera. It has an OKish tele but it also has a normal 20MP Ultrawide angle lens.
And now they want you to pay for 12.5MP photos from a 50MP quad bayer that may be fine & dandy but which will not cover a 4K screen at 100% resolution, and photographers reckon that IS important, because it just is, and I despise companies apeing Apple by witholding the best available tech and charging you double for half-size pictures, so there will be many hundreds of thousands of potential customers worldwide hanging on their (old) telephones and searching GSM Arena every week, or every day in the hope that Xiaomi at least will revert back to non-bayer sensors, but decent 1" ones for each lens, because nothing beats a great ultrawide that IS 50MPixels and not 12.5MP which is so tiny that details are completely lost, because high resolution sensors only just begin at 16MP, and you can still buy a 16mm 16MP Ultrawide on an old phone, or a 20MP 16mm, so there is no cause for us to buy replacements that give SO much less than they could now do.

Base version to be 3999 yuans (518 euros) in China.
Considering xiaomi european price policy (price increase of 100-200%), you can expect at least 1049 euros.

Also when market have only 6.4-6.8 inch screen size phones that all are longer then 158mm then only statistics to go by is the sales of standard S class and standard iphones.
To say there is market for or no market for.

None of the brands sell small phones in the budget to middle class range. Samsung use to have A40 that was smaller then other phones but it's specs and price was not balanced so people didnt buy them a lot so they made the screen larger with A41 and even larger with A42 and then ended making that A4x series cause probably these didnt sell well.

It's not easy to sell trash to people with high price tag and then think that market dont want small phones cause there trash didnt sell

Also, off site backup is "priceless" in case of fire or natural disaster etc. I found moving a physical storage unit, or setting up a NAS at someone else's house, was too much of a inconvenience. I therefore have both OneDrive and Google One. Just in case.

Them becoming hacked and specifically my data being stolen is far less likely than if a NAS I setup gets hacked.
