i have said it and id say it again. we need another mainstream OS competing with iOS and Android.

I know how hard it is to create an OS let alone compete with Android & iOS but so far all those who tried have only tried it with little effort. YES, all of them seems half-baked. they tried to create it with no intention of becoming mainstream to be honest.

      someone need to step in.

Though it is a limited phone and it is a joke car they buy anyway. I decided not to follow the crowd and buy things that I like.

I wonder why Android user feel hurt alot when Apple got stonks

I thought iOS had a 55% market share in the US. Among college students like me, it's definitely more like 90% though.

-Trix-, 19 Oct 2023No it’s not, it’s impossible to be because everyone does th... moreiOS has always been like this. Android is too heterogeneous so it can never be as integrated as iOS is, there's just too many phones with different specs and processors.
Still, I like the flexibility Android offers compared to it. So in the end it is good they are competing against each other. The bad thing would be to be forced to a single alternative.

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2023Well this is definitely not true . iPhone is polished but... moreNo it’s not, it’s impossible to be because everyone does their own thing. Just one example from many, OEMs have different Ui for their phones and yet 3rd developer have only one Ui for their apps, so which OEM Ui developer choose for their apps because they can only do one. Exactly! It’s a mess.

All apps on iOS are designed for same iOS Ui which makes the experience very unified and polished. Everything just blends so well together.

iPhone is polished but Android is also really polished or rather it depends on the android you buy

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2023Not everyone have the luxury to buy multiple phones.Me too. But, I work hard and save some to buy those things that I wanted. And, I don't buy phone like every year or two or three and so on. I'll only buy new ones once my phone is not working anymore. Why waste your hard earned money just to buy every new phone or things every year? When the old one still in good shape and conditions?? 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

lala, 19 Oct 2023I mean, no surprise here. Americans never learned how good ... moreSomething i’ve been wondering for many years, why you Android boys are so obsessed what others use and why you think everyone wants same than you? For example for me the locked system is better than unlocked, i’ve seen what kind of fragmented mess Android is, why would i want that? When i get super polished packet with Apple where everything works so well together.

If Apple sells 20M more phones than Samsung Q4 Apple will be number one for the first time ever in phone sales for the whole year

it's very possible to happen. Last year Apple sold 12M more and there were big shipment problem with iPhone 14 series because of the covid situation in foxxcon factory. Apple sold 10 million less than usual.

lala, 19 Oct 2023I mean, no surprise here. Americans never learned how good ... moreIt actually took awhile for the iPhone to be sold by all carriers. The original iPhone was an AT&T exclusive in the US, while T-Mobile had a G1 that ran something new called Android. Verizon soon followed with their exclusive Motorola Droid lineup. If I'm remembering correctly, Verizon didn't carry the iPhone until the iPhone 4, and T-Mobile didn't until the 5s, if not the 6.

And while I'm not going to rehash everything about how different bands make smartphone selection more limited in the US, I will say that the carrier model isn't too bad these days. For the past decade, the old two year contracts have gone away, but you can still get a free phone every two years or so via bill credits. And there are often offers from competing carriers to buy you out of a contract if you're still locked into one.

I mean, no surprise here. Americans never learned how good it is to have a proper smartphone and proper non-locked-into-nonsense carriers.

Carriers are the ones backing up all those iPhone sales. That's why the first iPhone models sold so well, even when they were pretty much useless in everything else.
