Being a rebranded Oppo Find N + having ugly UI + having stupid name + no IP67/68 rating (also having a not popular brand) are main reasons why Oneplus Open is one of failure product in 2023.
The only hope is selling it with price USD 500. Above USD 500 better to buy Samsung or iPhone, both phone have a popular brand and beautiful interface.

Seems like these smartphone OEMs want to milk more money from consumers by selling these overpriced devices that’ll break easily and cost more to repair compared to regular slab phones. Good thing most consumers are riding on this dumb trend.

And Genshin is still optimized for IOS, has no 120Hz on Android and still no native controller support. Three years after launch. All because of Apple bucks.

Samsung wants to position its folding phone as a gaming phone with dlss and other gaming things I want to have it on the ultra and not on this folding miracle, well or launch a new line s24 gaming or something, I do not know what should happen that I went to take the flip because there will be able to play pc games well well, if you do it like an iPhone on a regular phone or not at all well that's my opinion) and what is yours I will see in the reactions.

Maybe if they give better upgrades next iteration especially for the Flip, that could potentially happen. They're getting more competition in the foldable segment now so they really need to do better.

Then you have outer screen that is easily $70-80.
Just two screen cost at least $250 combined.
Trading 8g2 for midrange SoC like 695 does not reduce costs by $250-300. Difference is probably no more than $100-110.
Even simple sensor like imx586 (48MP 1/2") from 2018 is $25. Then add lenses, OIS and costs to build the whole module before it goes inside phone.
You think you can sell device like this for $500? This is what xiaomi asks for Redmi Note in Europe.

Another news said Samsung will use 200MP sensor in their telephoto lens.
So what I am expecting is a 200MP periscope telephoto camer ain the S24 Ultra.

Also did i talk about anything about hardware ?
You think that i think in the 400-500 range the phone needs to have top of the line performance and camera ???
Something SD695 to SD778 would be fine in that price range.
You get both of these chips in phones that cost under 300 euro.
And both of these chip give performance enough for majority of users who dont play games.
And yeah i do understand that in modern day i need to write a book and be very detailed about what i say cause everyone have there own fantasy and cant live without taking everything out of context. So the text need to be long and so detailed that even for 6 year old it be understandable

As long as Oppo, Vivo, Oneplus and several others will make a lot better foldables or flipables for a lot better prices Samsung can go nuts litterary.
The only thing which makes sales in their favor is list of countries where are available compared to other chinese brands with usually lot better specced devices with all the necessary accesories in the box.
If other brands would be avalable in 206 countries in world noone would buy samsung because any and every cmpetitor for much lower price makes a lot better device just like Oneplus Open compared to Z5 fold.
