Meanwhile, they can keep feeling proud over their meaningless benchmarks and few seconds faster video rendering.

I need new phone, 25 Oct 2023Ok ok.... Good specs at least on the sheet But how about p... moreI have to give credit to Apple what they done with N3b here...its a modular node for the first time. for phone it can reach a peak clock freq , and depending on the envelope and thermals that clock can be higher...ipad probably will have a slighty higher clock and the macs with active cooling even higher...so Apple is not going this time scaling just with more cores, but also with more clock freq on core design

[deleted post]this is not how this works...if you build a more efficient SoC, you have 2 options
Keep the same performance like last gen and improve battery life, or and this is the case, improve the performance until you reach the same battery life like last gen

Ok ok.... Good specs at least on the sheet
But how about power consumption? I hope they didn't let Samsung f up these like gen1 and 888 series
And i hope they don't over do it like A17 pro that at the end gets a power limiter to prevent overheating
If they make it like 8gen2 efficiency im gonna be so happy

If there's no microSD and 10 years Android updates support, I'm not interested, because it will go to waste in 2-3 years. And that's not cool.

Sammy just marketed the 8+g2 to look cool but performance wise everyone knew it was the same thing

all this Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performance and efficiency is trash versus Mediatek MT6580 Overclock Edition(1.4Ghz), Up until now there's no CPU on par with MT6580 in term of both CPU and GPU performance and battery efficiency. the only one come in second I can think of is Marvell PXA1088 but still 12th generation behind MT6580 supremacy.

I agree with the former comment, that we should be moving to 32-bit lossless, through Bluetooth. Mostly because of greater penetration and probably much lesser battery consumption.

I have little hope regarding thermals. The smaller nodes have been getting significantly worse at heat management. Especially without large heatsinks.
