On their twitter, Sony Xperia GB said that the ZL won't be released in the UK - so I'd imagine any online retailers selling it here are either importing, or based in another country where it has been released.

Just to reiterate my earlier point for all those who didn't see it - the ZR WILL be available in the UK, just check the Sony website (I obviously can't speak for other markets, but I'd advise the same). Whichever source said that it won't be in the UK is completely and utterly wrong!

AnonD-8816, 15 May 2013Finally a decent "robust" phone. Not too big but ... moretotally agree Spogy!! I've spoken to Sony ZA and they say it's up to the networks to decide whether they will stock it. The Z is just too big and square for my liking but i might b forced into taking it cos the Xperia V, which is my next choice, is only slightly cheaper but only has half the memory and processing power of the Z.. hopefully they see the light and bring the ZR to our shores!

Still trying to find out if they gonna release this phone in South Africa... the Z is a little too big for my liking so really hope they release it in SA. I don't understand why they wouldn't.

Where's the flagship waterproof Shamsung, LG, HTC or iPhone? Exactly what part of your mid-size (Or ANY size for that matter) water-resistant needs are they fulfilling?
Rather than complaining about what Sony ARE bringing out, why not stop to think what the others AREN'T doing before you whine!

This is wrong. Why? Normally i don't buy anything bigger than 4.3". So i won't buy Z because it is too big. But i would have seriously considered buying ZR cos it is not as big as this new ugly giant phones. I don't live in this 3 countries but if they don't get it there is big chance we won't too..
I studied bussiness administration i understand the marketing strategy of Sony but i also consumer. Not launching ZR everywhere may not have the desired effect. Cos' there isn't only Sony. ZR would attract people who is not considered buying Z like me. I am looking for a normal sized good (at least decent) phone. And i know other people just like me. There is another piece of the pie companies continuing to neglect.

sony's marketing is really BS. they won't get it. i am a sony fan. but i have to admit that they are a bunch of jerks in terms of marketing.
first they produced phones nobody was waiting for and sold them world wide. than they started to produce good phones and decided to not provide them in the key markets. maybe they got not enough capacity to satisfy all this contries at the same time. i don't know. but you better go for UK/F/D if you want to sell a lot of phones. this 3 markets only got 200 millionen consumers. and most of them got 1000 euros or more spare every month. because this countries are rich!
