Please test Realme 11 Pro Plus, and Motorola Edge 40 and Samsung S21 fe 2023 (SD 888 Edition) with this new protocol as all these are top sellers right now in Indian Mid-range market...

People reading this comment and having experienced or used the above phones can tell me which phone should I buy.. My priorities are camera quality and battery endurance (Screen-ON Time SOT endurance)

Jason, 10 Nov 2023Battery tests are now useless because a year from the phone... moreSony Xperia 5 V and 5 II:

My 2007 Sony Ericsson is on Original battery with 70% capacity, and my 2012 Xperia Tipo now has 31 days of Standby time getting used as an Alarm clock instead of 35 days when it was new.

These sony phone batteries have as long as they don't overheat an hella long lifespan

Battery tests are now useless because a year from the phone release, the battery life will be way less. Everyone has a powerbank because heavy use, the phone will die no matter which one it is.

This is cool that you improve and expand it!

Fa14bi, 10 Nov 2023Well, it lacks a key thing now, standby time.Negligible. Mostly depends on the apps that YOU install and leave running in the background, otherwise it's just a few percentage every few hours. It's definitely not a key factor. You aren't buying your phone to NOT use it. And if you are, that's your thing. In a situation where it would matter (camping?) you'd carry a power bank or similar tools anyway. The best possible case you could make for standby time being important is emergencies in which you are trapped somewhere for long durations...but that's really a stretch.

Ravenowl, 09 Nov 2023Glad to see you've fixed that flawed system and adjust... moreWell, it lacks a key thing now, standby time.

This is amazing. I don't use call funtion that much as I browse web and media while going to work (public transportation)

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2023Why not add the standby time as a slider? Google Pixel has ... morePhones with poor standby time are a usual indicator of software intrusion aka data and location gathering. This is a strong selling point for me, NOT having a phone with poor standby like the Pixel phones.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2023You work in prison? Why don't you turn off the phone ... moreYes, matter of fact I do. I'm a nurse and work for local government. People can get killed if staff is distracted by cellphones. Same as my father's line of work, in construction. Kinda like my brother in law's occupation, engineer with NASA. But that's more for espionage.

I wasn't being sarcastic in any of that, just so you know.

We really need the endurance rating back.

Much needed update, thank you. I suggest you put this variable in the phone finder page as well.

This is fabulous. Thanks for updating the Battery testing Methodology as it gives a more realistic feel to the number on what to expect. also impressive numbers on the sony 5 V.

i have something on my wishlist for you.
can you also improve the audio testing methodology?

some smartphones emit a way different frequency response at 50% volume, which is more commonly used as normal listening volume for youtube videos or listening to podcasts for example. the asus zenfone decreases bass alot for example above 70% volume below 100hz. it's important for me to also have a nice bass response on my smartphone so i can listen at low volume for satisfying audio that integrates in the room. maybe you can come with something up to bring this closer?

Glad to see you've fixed that flawed system and adjusted to the software side of things, rather than testing raw hardware.
The Pixel haters probably won't like to see that they were wrong after all. haha

77, 09 Nov 2023Why do you hate Mediatek ™®Copper heat pipe back plate 28nm hot rod turbo engine not available on mediatek.

so what's the equivalent of, say...80h endurance time, of the orginial test method to this newly updated 2.0 test method?
