Lol samsung Zfold 5 hardly have any sales at all , even the Z flip beats it outright easily with new the design; hardly surprising ZF5 slump bigtime and even massive discounting just after release even for a third of retail price promo recently ended, I cannot bring myself to buy one, because I just cannot use the front screen cover for most tasks!
The reason ZF% flopped so badly is simple....they refused to listen to what buyers been complaining for the last 3 years with iterative rubbish but failed to fix the core complaints!
1. The narrow display that is unuseable for 90% of the population for most tasks
2. lack of S-pen silo in what is already a bulky fone without a case
3. No camera improvements, it should have 3 lots of 50MP's and at least one with a 5x Zoom!
4. Hope they are smart enough to put a bigger battery for ZF6 if they want a big improvements in sale and not relying solely for SD 8Gen3, when they increase the wider front screen with more space to install bigger batteries; ZF5 has the smallest batteries amongst the folds.
Fix all the above and shut up and take my money; even without discounts I would buy one!

S23: Success (reason: cool!)
S24 = Most Best (reason: redesign and also will be good)
probably the S24 Ultra would also be most sold

S23+ is kind of the same story with Iphone Plus models. Too expensive for what it offers, and close in price with S23 Ultra.

Good sales of small model are not that surprising. Majority may want big screens, but there are still plenty of people looking for a reasonably sized phone and there's not much to choose from in today's market.

-no proper water resistant
-no wireless charging
-no desktop mode
-unoptimized software (this is first gen Oneplus foldable)
-being a rebranded cheap brand Oppo Find N3 (literally same phone)
- primitive punch hole camera on inner screen.
- having laughable brand "Open" (well this is not a tournament)
- lack number of official stores
- poor quality of night mode camera
- poor design and cheap looking of Oxygen OS/Color OS

The fact that Base S23 sold way more than S23+ and closer to Ultra i didnt expect to see.
I guess the combination of heavy price drops and worldwide snapgradon helped a lot on that.
Base S23 is probably one of the cheaper 8 Gen 2 devices you can find atm.
If the rumors for Exynos on S24 are true, S23 will keep selling in 2024 too.

Never buying Exynos. Been a Samsung user since S1 to S22. I am now rocking my iPhone 15 Pro Max. NEVER AGAIN SAMSUNG!

S23 even looks like an iPhone with the screen turned off. Samsung is also developing their own Apple like ecosystem with their Galaxy devices. They are copying a strategy that works, really well.

they deserve it. s23 is the only series that offers snapdragon worldwide. but they ruined it with s24 which offers exynos on non-ultra models. this makes customers to encourage buying the ultra variant.

It's a proven business strategy pioneered by one of the most profitable companies on the planet. Apple does small improvements each year which has multiple benefits. 1 - it makes new customers or customers feel extremely good about the device, because it is amazing each time, 2 - it does not make customers that just bought the last generation device or has had it for a year feel bad about their purchase, because it is only slightly better 3 - when existing customers choose their next phone they will look at the same line if it was good, it will be improved over 2-5 generations and better than ever.

Once the competition goes mainstream, the foldable concept will have much more advanced hardware and software experience.
OnePlus Open is a great example of that.
