Not saying that foldables is a failed hype like 3D TV, but it isn't booming and looks to be on its way out.

It's all about that Snapdragon chip. Huge improvement and international availability, when I heard the rumours that S24 will have exynos in international model again I went and upgraded to S23+, amazing device so far.

SShock, 30 Oct 2023I got S23 Ultra after waiting for half as year after first ... moreWhat do you mean by 'crappy weak 1x80'? Exynos 1380 in the A54 performs similarly to Snapdragon 778G which is still a good chip.

I got S23 Ultra after waiting for half as year after first hearing they are going with Snapdragon. I was holding out on Samsung all these years because of disappointing Exynos.
Then again i wish they'd use higher end Exynos chips in flagship A series models instead of crappy weak Exynos 1x80 series.

They slacked off on their foldables. And I can see the S23/+ sales increasing further when a particular version of S24/+ will be released in certain markets.

Oki, 30 Oct 2023I see you're new in tech world. They've always do... moreNo.
If that much ppl were interested, then they would naturally buy.
No need to have deals where they pay $300 and get a $1200 phone.
When you are really interested, you pay what it costs.
Without trade-ins, samsung would lose way more sales than apple.

That's what happens when you dump Exynos and offer the same snapdragon model to everyone.

Not surprising. Having the latest Snapdragon chipset across the board made them all stable and dependable phones.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2023Samsung is desperate, offering 40, 50, 60, 70% off trade-i... moreThere's a lot more competition now. The made in China haters are just a minority. People buy what suits their budget.
And even bootleg Samsung models with fake names still manage to find buyers lmao.

Z fold 5 had a hinge improvement and no other real world difference between it and the z fold 4, no wonder it didn't sell that well

Samsung is desperate, offering 40, 50, 60, 70% off trade-ins, even if you bring old phones like S8/9/10/20.

The first series I liked from Samsung and probably the only one, that's why I got Ultra as a main and S23 as a backup.
