Video CreatorApp is nice but some features missing (like HDR output, fading out etc)
If someone wants to know what can do in couple hours with just 5V there is microcosmos | Xperia 5V on YT.

LucasN82, 07 Nov 2023I own 4,5 years old Xperia and software stability is 100%.LOL. I had an Xperia 1 III for two years and now it's useless except as a WiFi web browser.

              Advertised but always broken:
              - 5G (Sony's MBN files cripple it on the US model)
              - 4K display (Never worked, removed in update)
              - C-band cellular (Never certified, never enabled)
              - MicroSD performance (no OEM fix for Google SAF)
              - In-pocket detection
              - Fingerprint reader accuracy
              - Thermal management
              - AR Core
              - Microphone gain adjustment
              - Camera OIS calibration
              - Periscope lens flare

Cellular and GPS reception were always bad but they faded away to nothing. The fingerprint reader completely died too.

It might have been fine for you but obviously there are many others who are not happy with the bugs.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2023You can connect external mic via bluetoothI won't recommend that since it always suffers from latency, especially from a distance. Also, you won't get high-quality audio files with Bluetooth, and you have to charge it after a few hours of use. No such problem with a wired mic since it'll depend on the phone's battery, and there's zero latency because of the jack.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2023As a former Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra user, I can easily say... morePersonally, for me, the only thing missing from Sony's flagship phones is built-in DAC audio. If Sony had done it, it would easily be a worthy replacement for LG's flagship phones. Having a custom Desktop Mode UI would be nice, though having a wired video output in the first place is already a huge blessing.

Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi etc. aren't immune to bugs of course, but Sony (and Google) phones tend to get much more severe and bizarre bugs compared to others. The fact that the Xperia Subreddit literally has the "bug thread" stuck to the top says it all.
