Most smartphones cooling system isnt enough to sustain the performance of heavy games.
Thats why gaming phones like Asus Rog or Lenovo Legion for example, emphasize the improved(extra fan)cooling and avoid using passive cooling like Iphones.
Yes Iphones benchmarks are impressive, but if you keep running them, you notice how easy iphones are to throttle performance due to passive cooling, which results in worse performance and screen dimming.

k0vasz, 12 Nov 2023you just need to check how this game runs on a PC with such... moreThis wont do anything to prove the performance or lack thereof the iphones cpu. The game runs at an apple limited 4-5w power usage on the iphone because thats all the phone can take without heating up like crazy. The a17 pros cpu alone needs 14w at max performance. Even ipads will struggle to keep cpu+gpu at max, its gonna be around 20w.

prasad-gsma, 12 Nov 2023Recommended settings aren't a substitute for optimizat... moreI guess i wasnt clear enough, i meant make the existing recommended option actually optimized to run on the iphone. Even on consoles you have many games with atleast two modes, quality and framerate modes. Make such a preset and actually optimize for it run well. Then leave the advanced settings in its own menu. Its not going to eat you.

Anonymous, 12 Nov 2023A 50 dollar smartwatch is infinitely faster than a PC grade... moreTheir is no such thing as PC grade, no standard, no compliances, no certifications or anything similar, sooner or later long compound instructions will become myth. Also M3 can't run x86 grade execution just with 30-40% improvement boost, or how much is that 50%!

Mills, 12 Nov 2023Hopefully iPad Air uses A17 Pro as it's a middle groun... moreyou just need to check how this game runs on a PC with such a CPU and compare the results. you'll see that these synthetic results are just numbers, which means nothing in real-life scenarios

Mediatek sux, 12 Nov 2023"The reason I am not especially stoked to see these op... moreRecommended settings aren't a substitute for optimization. The console versions of games don't just use the standard setting parameters available for the PC version. Many console games have settings that are often even lower than the lowest settings available for the PC. This is on top of the hardware specific optimization done by the developer. The Recommended preset in Village just sets everything to the lowest settings, which is still not low enough to run the game on the iPhone. The game needs more than just basic settings tuning, which even the user can do.
Also, settings in the PC version are a crutch for a lack of optimization, which is understandable considering the variety of hardware available on the platform. They have no place on the iPhone version of the game available literally on two phones and a handful of iPads. They only exist in this game because the developer put no work into actual optimization work and left it up to the user to figure it out.

Using the following crazy ar... more1. Desktop and mobile processors are very different, they are designed for different purposes. Mobile processors for pure efficiency, desktop for performance. Of course they are more powerful with significant higher power draw, however you'd be surprised how much you can restrain a desktop chip without losing much performance.
2. Yeah, we can't play it. Not because our phones don't have power, but because we don't have the game. Who cares? The way the game plays right now it isn't that enjoyable anyways, on top of that it isn't a game I would want to play on a tiny screen anyways.
