"The reason I am not especially stoked to see these options in a mobile game is because it adds complexity where it does not belong. A mobile version of a game should ship in an optimized state, where various parameters are already chosen during development to offer the best image quality to performance ratio."
"A mobile port should have the same level of optimization as the console versions, not the desktop versions."
Such a stupid take when you said the game already has a recommended settings option. Let the developer make that the optimized mode. No wonder even google starts restricting storage access and stuff in every newer android version, even so called pc gamers like you want a dumbed down game settings menu.

Only about 30 FPS? That makes it a horribly slow gaming experience. Like watching PowerPoint presentation? If yes, then play at 30 or 60 FPS!
I thought they'd make it run at least closer to 120 FPS for the smoothness and responsiveness, guess that's not happening even with lowering settings.

How did Apple approved this in the first place to appear on app store?
I think they went greedy and ignored their principle of optimization.

Android users are jealous..
Using the following crazy arguments.
1. Compare a mobile CPU 3/4 watts with PC with 300/400watts.
2. Android phones that cost more then iPhone 15 Pro, also cannot play this game.. lol

Mills, 12 Nov 2023I like how after the technological people from Apple get fi... moreThe issue is retaining the right people. Seems like Apple has problems doing that. Take their silicon team. Guess what, they were out, created Nuvia, got bought by Qualcomm, and bam, SD8gen2 magically caught up and performs even better than Apple Silicon. Luckily Apple still has Srouji, but clearly Apple is losing their head start advantage fast.
Of course, who can forget Scott Forstall, who got fired due to Apple Maps (and Tim siding with Ive). And we have Craig who delivered buggy iOS releases year after year. Craig is good at making jokes on stage, but clearly didn’t have the chops (or overtly pressured by marketing).
Apple is basically a trillion dollar company that is burning down slowly due to poor HR. And I don’t think Tim Cook is even aware of that (as he did make some bad decisions in hiring the wrong people before). As more of the old school Apple team fading away, we are seeing Apple losing its focus, and behaving like a third rate OEM (cutting corners, nickel & diming their own customers, etc)

Been playing this with iPad Pro and using AirPlay to stream it to TV, performance is surprisingly good and sounds are great with home theater. But honestly this is not the kind of resident evil game i like. 20 december comes RE4 remake for iOS , that's one of the best games ever

Mills, 12 Nov 2023Super computer is an exaggeration. I don't think it... moreA 50 dollar smartwatch is infinitely faster than a PC grade chipset.
PC grade starts at Intel 8086.

pl2rts, 12 Nov 2023Lots of things exist, I know full well that gamepads exist,... moreThe gamepad I bought was called X3, it cost $6 with shipping in local online shop Indonesia. I've been using it for 1 year, now I'm using it to play GTA 5 (doesn't need remap)... it works very good with PPSSPP on mobile too without needing any more remapping.

rizki1, 12 Nov 2023gamepad exists, costs around $6 and just connect with bluetooth.Lots of things exist, I know full well that gamepads exist, but still a lot of people play without them and i cant imagine to play games on phone anyways with so many buttons
Also with 6 bucks you wont get any good gamepads and never mind that it depends where you live to order as there can be shipping cost that is double of the gamepad itself. Probably better be to go with something that have cooling and replaceable batteries and these cost a lot also probably

“The fact that it's a lazy port makes it especially impressive and that the A17 Pro can run it at all is praiseworthy.”
Indeed.
I have been running it on 1080@30fps on my 15 Pro Max and it has been great. It gives a great idea of just how good mobile gaming can get, glad Apple is leading the charge here.
