Xiaomi phones with unlocked bootloader won't get HyperOS updates

10+ year Xiaomi buyer here. It was always a pain to unlock a Xiaomi bit this is pure nonsense. I will be moving to another brand when/if it's impossible to unlock the bootloader.

Imagine your UI is so bad that you need unlocked bootloader for a custom rom and then the company who made a bad UI is restricting you of updates if you want to make your phone usable. Xiaomi moment🤡

Just lock it completely Xiaomi like what OnePlus did. We will only be buying Google Pixel phones when they improve their charging speed going forward. You suck! One wonders if you really own the $1k plus phone you buy.🤷🏿♂️ 😂😂😂

If Xiaomi blocks unlocking bootloader for international users, I'm certainly going to turn my back on Xiaomi after 10 years of continously using only Xiaomi smartphones!!!

Not people who is willingly accept their phone is controlled by its manufacturer, like those Apple fans, Vivo, and many others. This is a setback for Xiaomi, to these days they are one of those who still at least provide kernel source, broken or not. Along with Google, Sony, Asus, etc.
